Is there a way to view how a homebrew that I did /not/ create is setup? Like, say I want to make something similar, but don't know how. I cannot clone/duplicate someone else's homebrew (by design, which is fine); but it would be helpful to like have a way to just view a readonly version of the editor to see how things are supposed to be setup? Example, a tutorial/discussion somewhere (can't find it again) refers to this item: https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/380387-warhammer-1-2-undead . However, I'm not sure how they implemented it. (Also, I'm not even sure what I'm /supposed/ to see in the character sheet, as I don't see anything referring to Undead except for the flavor text.) I added what I think is correct to a magic item based on Warhammer +1: modifier, favored enemy, undead, fixed value 2. AFAICT, it appears the same in character sheet as the other one -- but again, no reference to undead outside of flavor text. Is there a feature that is no longer working / not implemented yet? Have I done something wrong?
I am making an homebrew subclass for monk which grant multiple stages of action at 3rd lv. I added a feature for the 3rd lv and then under action the 4 possible actions that the player can use. On the list the actions are ordered correctly as I entered them but on the character sheet, the action are all mixed up (the snippet text). I there a way to know how this list is ordered. My actions name start with a number 1, 2, 3, 4 but it does not seem to affect the order they are shown on the character sheet.
Realized that 3rd - 6th etc.. are all priorities on the ordering list and are ordered before any alphanumerical value.
I apologize if this has already been addressed. But is there a way to apply templates, such as the Shadow Dragon and Dracolich templates given in the Monsters Manual without going through and adding each piece one at a time? If not, could there be an option added to do this? Like a drop down in the homebrew process that would auto populate the items from the template.

Not currently. I think they hope to include that as part of the planned monster builder eventually.
When creating a homebrew subrace and adding spells, is there a way to get them to show up in the spell list with a special type of spell slot that gets checked off as it is used?
I've created a "Fey Spellcasting" ability that gives access to a short list of spells (8) they can use a total of one time (plus charisma modifier) a day. I've got it all but getting the spells to show up where they aren't "At will" or under the other level spell slots available to the character. Is that possible to do in a way where they can see the description of the spell from DnDBeyond's database when clicking on the spell like is done on the character sheet?
This should help - make sure you add each spell individually (the field with green box around below).
You can define the number of uses in the area where I marked with red - if you want it to be "charisma modifier number of times per long rest" then set that box to charisma.
Thank you! That is very close. This is creating one spell that has the right number of uses, which I was able to do. Is there a way to tie in a group of spells that, between the 8 spells, have the 1+charisma modifier total uses that reset at dawn? Almost like linking it to a created action that has that number per reset period?
I'm currently working on re-creating the Rune Knight subclass so I can add a homebrew rune (really wish I could just copy the UA subclass), and I can't seem to get the Actions to have their proper Uses per Short Rest (should be 1 use, then 2 uses at level 15).
When editing the action, I have the Limited Use section set like this:
On the character sheet, it doesn't display the uses, only the Action's name and snippet. What am I missing?
In case you're able to view them, here's the subclass so far, and here's the character I'm using to test the sheet output.
Is it possible for a homebrew monster to be selected from the "Manage Extras" section of the character sheet as a Beast Companion, specifically? I've created a racial ability and was hoping to grant access to the creature through that but it isn't showing in that drop-down either. Is that a restriction to homebrew monsters?

Hello! Can you specify which feature/option you're looking for help with? Knowing which option(s) you've set this up on will help us quickly assist you by letting us go directly to where this is occurring.

Hi there-- Ensure you have homebrew turned on. If the beast doesn't meet the usual rules for Beast Companion, you'll want to turn 'off' the filter in the extras pane once you select beast companion. This should allow you to add any monster.

At the time, none of the Limited Uses I'd added to the Actions were showing on the character sheet - but just now when I went to go get more screenshots, they all work as expected. I must have done something wrong last time.

TYVM for the screenshot! I have made those edits...though nothing seems changed in the character sheet? Am I just missing it?

Hopefully! It would also be cool if Templates were something that people could homebrew and publish like the other creations.

Unfortunately we're not able to model that currently, sorry!
Personally I would approach that as you mention - creating an action and tracking the number of casts available through that.

Yes. I created a homebrew beast for my daughter and she can select it as a beast companion.
It is just a normal beast, nothing special.

Did you turn on homebrew for that character?

Thank you, MellieDM, that was it. I created it as a Fey creature instead of Beast. Derp. Thanks again!
