I would love to see some sort of Feedback portion for homebrew content. Maybe a Star rating and way to provide input for information. I fear magic items and monsters especially will be filled with thousands of absolutely outrageous/unrealistic items and monsters and would like a way to maybe choose to filter lower rated items or monsters or give feedback to someone to recommend a CR adjustment or feature modification that may help improve a submitted bit of homebrew. Mostly though id like a way to be able to sort out and only show content based on community opinions of their usability.
I'm having trouble uploading images for my various oni (which is a bummer because I have pictures for all of them). I included images for them in the creation process but they aren't showing up and there's no "save" button nearby as the tutorial shows, just the "send it up for consideration" -- which doesn't do that (I need to go into the personal creations listing of all my submissions and click to publish them there).
Also, I'm not sure how to go about adding a template (and imagine that's a feature for down the line).
Generally though good job, pretty smooth implementation. :D

Saving manually is fine, but I'd agree that some kind of auto-save drafts of all content I've created would be useful. If editing an existing item, the draft should be available to continue updating, but it should not change the private saved item until you apply the changes explicitly.
As someone who extensively homebrews in his home games (I love Adventures League and I will admin it to death at conventions, but I like to play a bit more fast, loose, and cinematic preferably), will there be an option in the future to include the ability to integrate Drive Thru RPG purchases with D&D Beyond?
As a DMsGuild publisher, this is a subject near and dear to my heart that I'm very worried about at the moment.
There NEEDS to be publisher support in DnD Beyond. Ideally, there should be DMsGuild integration given it is the officially sanctioned platform for sharing and selling 3rd party content. If Wizards, Curse, and OneBookShelf haven't already started talking about how this could work, they should. At minimum, failing that, there needs to be a way to publish homebrew content to a limited subset of users (perhaps via an activation code that can then be bundled with the product they purchased).
I don't suppose it matters much to Curse either way but Wizards have to care about this. They sold us on DMsGuild with the promise of a thriving marketplace for our content. But once customers get used to the convenience of the character builder and the compendium, they will be less inclined to buy our products if we can't package them in a way that integrates to these tools.
All I can say about the beta is that I love what I'm seeing as a player and a DM. It's the publisher support I'm not seeing that has me worried.
Could we implement the [spoiler] tag or something equivalent to indicate that some info is reserved for DMs for magic item descriptions. Might be good for cursed items.
There is a spoiler tag actually. It's the "!" button when you're in the text editing box.
I love the idea of community feedback on published homebrew content! Seeing things like how often content is used by others, as well as a voting system would be great so the most popular items rise to the top.
But please, no 5-star or negative ratings systems! Too often I've seen those systems abused by others. We're not talking about items for pay here, these are labors of love by creators, there should be no need for negativity to creep in. If people don't like a particular homebrew item, they can simply not use it. There's a reason Facebook and Twitter use simple Likes and <3 options. Leave the 5-star ratings to Amazon until and if you want to monetize the homebrew content, a la the DMs Guild.
Comments and feedback are very valuable too, but not without some moderation protections - notification of abuse, clear guidelines for acceptable behavior, moderators who adhere to the guidelines consistently protecting both creators and the commenters. It is hard to get right without commitment, and I'd personally rather do without comments if that commitment by WoTC/TSR is not there.
I don't know if someone already said that but a Class Homebrew Creation is needed as well, at least it would be nice.
For now, homebrew is limited to Monsters, Spells & Magical Items. The staff development team are continuing to work to bring more content and tools to D&D Beyond and expansion of Homebrew is part of that. In short, no for now, but possible in the future.

I think the best analogy of what's being aimed for is the Steam Workshop, where you can see the "most popular" and "most subscribed to" content as a way of seeing what is best.
The more people decide to use a particular homebrew, the more popular the system knows it is.
A few ideas after playing with the custom content for a while:
My homebrew creations (and maybe even anything in my homebrew collection) should be selectable as templates for creating new stuff. Right now only SRD content is available, but it would be a great boost to efficiency if we could base our work off of existing homebrew.
Table support in the text editor.
Checkbox (or equivalent) on spell list/item list/monster list/etc. to include homebrew collection content along with official content all in one place.
So, there is a minor problem with the way the homebrew items are categorized alphabetically. I published a homebrew weapon named ("Bone-Razor") and it popped up as the very first item on the Homebrew Magic Items list.
That can be a serious problem going forward because people will just spam anything with any kind of symbol and be on the front page of whatever homebrew content list.
I'd like some sort of rating system for homebrew content. After digging through 7 pages of spells there was a lot of stuff that was poorly done. A rating system would help sort out the crazy bad and bring some focus on good design. Same for all homebrew would be a good idea.
One issue that definitely needs to come up is a way to comment, review or vote on homebrew content to try and maintain balanced quality.
I spent 5min browsing and found a large number of homebrew items way way stronger than they had any right to be.
Everyone has their own preferences for power level of items in their game. But there needs to be a way to ensure that DnDbeyond doesn't just become another dndwiki

Eh. DM's Guild is a horrid website with incredibly poor and old design. Whoever is running it clearly doesn't know what they're doing. I wouldn't want DDB staff to be forced to work with that lumpy mess.

I'm really excited about the options so far! It gives promise for future updates!
I do have a question... Will I have to publish Homebrew for people in my campaign to see it? I'm concerned that I do some very silly things in my games that I'd love to use this app for, but I don't want Dock Marht'n and his powerful Shoe-tonium to clog up the more serious adds.
I've published a monster, and then realised there are some things I need to tweak. So I've clicked on 'Create New Version' and it's opened a window with a button that says 'Create'. But when I click that button nothing happens. (The button just lightens.)

Hmm, not being able to test homebrew content until launch seems like an oversight. How can the feature truly leave beta then?
No one wants to delay the launch of the core toolset. But maybe a post-GA Homebrew beta period is needed to test the feature?
I also would like to see custom classes and subclasses

Feats..? I would like to be able to homebrew feats. Would that be possible to add?

After you publish a monster it becomes un-editable until the mods either approve/deny it. After that you can edit it and submit it again.
