I trust that the people I play with would not go out and seek the information, but I fear that they might fall for the temptation when they discover the whole adventure is available to them with a simple click on this website. Especially if they have encountered a frustrating obstacle or if they feel like the puzzles in the adventure are too complicated. It would only be human nature to take a peak and I'd prefer it not be so easy, if only to aid those of my friends that are weak willed.
This, sadly, will still be a while. In the latest Dev Update, at the 37.25 mark, Adam claims they're close to be ready for development, but their development teams are busy on current in-progress objectives (which I thought this was one of, but apparently isn't). :(
Yeah, then they will continue to not get the additional hundreds of dollars that I know plenty of us are holding back because of this. It's so short sided to not have enabled a simple source share system by now at the very least. No one can pretend that dev is that complicated that it can't be done quickly with devoted resources. Easy way get a fresh significant cash influx.
Just subscribed to the DM tier so I could share my rule books with my players. But I'm holding off on buying the Legendary edition until they launch the content management system. Hope it doesn't take long.

I really hope it's close (now that they've launched their Discord server -- why that became so important, who knows? -- it may be), but many of us have been waiting for over a loooong time.
There’s also a weekly video on Twitch. Live stream of it is on Thursdays (10 Pacific??? Seems like it starts at noon in the Central US time zone). It’s available as VOD the same day.
Almost 2 years in nothing concrete on something that many people in this thread say they are holding off buying things cause of this feature has yet to be implemented, myself included now.
Throw my name in waiting for this, hopefully not another year later.....
FYI - There is a new button on campaign pages that have content sharing enabled. The button is labeled "Content Management". It takes you to a page with some information and a link to a survey.
I can't share any of the backgrounds or subclasses in my collection with my players that don't personally have access to those sort of things; it's annoying and frustrating. I've had this issue with all my players that have their character posted in the Campaign on D&D Beyond. Most of the subclasses are limited to 2 despite me having access to more than that personally, and basically none of the backgrounds I have access to personally can be used for any of players

Hi Dracone,
Do you, or does anyone in your group, have a Master Tier subscription? This subscription level allows you to turn on content sharing in up to three campaigns with up to 12 players each. When content sharing is turned on, all purchased content from all members of the campaign is shared between them.

Hi MellieDM
I've been looking around this morning trying to figure out why my books are not being shared with a new campaign I just joined. I wanted confirmation that even though I am not the "owner" of the campaign, that because the owner is Master Tier and enabled content sharing, that everyone would have access to my books. My friend is new to DDB so they may not realize how to view the content yet, but right now they don't see anything, even though I bought the Legendary Bundle last year and have everything before Saltmarsh.
I thought that having a Master Tier sub let everyone in the campaign share all of their purchased content, regardless of who enabled the content sharing. Is this not the case?
Also, in general to this actual thread - wow I can't believe this was suggested 2 years ago and is only just now in development. That's kinda weird to me - being able to control what I share should be tantamount as a DM, since I get to decide what is acceptable for my table, and that means I should be able to turn off certain things. Those are written in every expanded rule in the book, to "check with your DM" if it's ok to use it. I'm eager to see more updates.

If content sharing is turned on in the campaign, then everyone’s content in the campaign should be shared. Please have whoever has the Master Tier subscription make sure that content sharing is turned on. If it is, have them turn it off and then back on again.
In terms of how long it’s taking to get content management up and running, remember that the team is small (although getting bigger) and there are LOTS of features in the pipeline. One person’s urgent need is another’s “meh.” I’m sure balancing priorities hasn’t been easy for the team.

Because the search still isn't good enough to keep people from stumbling onto things.

yup waiting for this feature as well.
Worth noting, on today's dev update this feature was moved to in progress.
Excited to see any movement on this one.

You are not the only one. For some of us (you, included), it's been a long wait for a much desired feature.
I'm hurrying and waiting for this one also! My players are already joking amongst themselves that the campaign is readily available to read :(
... Sigh
Edit: where can we see the dev updates?
Edit II: found it in the comments section here... Exciting! https://www.dndbeyond.com/changelog/514-changes-for-june-5th-2019

It starts at 11AM Central on Thursdays. Happens to coincide with my lunch break :)

It's been mentioned in the video updates that it's actively in development now.
Awesome!
