Erm... maybe this is what you meant by “lacking many details” but all I get right now when I click on “Export Sheet” is just a blank template, with absolutely no information filled in.
If so, there is a known issue with the default PDF viewer not working correctly with form-filled PDFs and you need to install the adobe PDF reader app.

Or once you have the blank PDF character shee, there is an option to open the sheet using iBooks. All of there data will be there then.
I am sorry I didn't respond sooner - just realized all "dndbeyond.com" emails were going to my Spam folder. That's fixed now.
I was using Firefox Developer Edition on my MacBook Pro. I think I was originally using Firefox's internal PDF reader, which was leaving out the details from the form. After reading everyone's suggestions, this time I opened the exported sheet with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and it worked great.

the missing features mentioned are mostly for your background information not auto populating. I have also added the full text of racial bonuses into the description section via copy paste.

how do i get the ability scores on the top, not the modifier? i have triple checked that i have it set right but when I export to pdf, the modifiers are on the top and the ability scores are on the bottom.

I have triple checked that I have “scores top” selected under character options but when I export to pdf, the modifiers are on the top and the scores are under, when I want the scores to be on the top. How can I fix this?
There is no fix. The PDF has a fixed template matching the official PDF character sheets from WotC. This cannot be changed.
I’ve searched for the answer to this everywhere I could think of but couldn’t find the answer.
Is there a way to export the Character Sheet to PDF or something like that, so I can send it to my DM?
When you are on the character sheet, click on the avatar on the top left, then "Export". It will create the PDF for you.
The current PDF export function is lacking many details of your character, but next week it is going to be a revolution.
NEXT WEEK!!!!! Happy dance!
Sorry... go about your business.. Nothing to see here..
Yay! Thank you! (It’s so nice when my questions are relevant. ☺️)

The adobe PDF app and the Dropbox app also display it properly. Or you could send it to your computer and print/email/share it from there.

Ah, if only my iPad could run iOS 12! Buying a new iPad keeps getting more and more tempting.
