I would not be surprised by that result. If it wouldn't have been true a couple of months ago, it absolutely will be true now as so many more people are unable to get together and do D&D in their normal fashion.

This current social aberration we're experiencing is possibly why they chose to launch the survey now. This isn't the first time they've asked stuff like this. Comparing the data from then and now can be a gold mine of information for a lot of things - even things that seem unrelated.
Everything is related in the end. The question is what usually influences what the most from what events. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that DDB is also gathering data from other sources about other things.
Never rely on a single set of data. It tells people nothing more than a still photograph. The researchers I've worked alongside all took data from many periods of time. "Deep Learning" "training" does the same thing.

it sounds like you're referring to the accident that happened where the survey was set-up incorrect? Lauren & Badeye already addressed this and explained the situation. An accident happened and we underestimated the complexity of some of the survey settings, that's all!
Oh, well that's good, I had jumped to some unhappy conclusions about it all. It allowed me to take the survey when I changed male to other, and being a little tipsy I jumped to a wrong conclusion. Really glad that wasn't the case.

Oh 100% this. 90% of what I need for a game as a player or DM is here, and having to jump to roll20 due to pandemic (not the tabletop game which is great btw) has not been idle for our group that would otherwise be played in person. Even if we had someone stay at home to watch their kids one day, they'd still be able to play on a virtual tabletop so long as we handled that froum our table. Having all the things in 1 place would be great.
That and I think I put ability to ignore users on the forum. I know it exists, and it shows up for all but the one person I actually want to ignore lol.
I don't think they would have the savvy to develop something like a Virtual Table top. Lots of high end coding and rendering would need to happen.
At least in the way I envision it.

Hopefully we'll be able to demonstrate that to you!
I sure hope we get to see D&D Beyond's savvy tech staff's abilities demonstrated by building a VTT. That is by far the number 1 thing that I would like to see added. I have been hoping that the encounter builder and combat tracker are just first steps on that path.
A setting error was causing people to be unable to complete the survey. This was discussed in this thread. Staff did comment to say it was a mistake. You can use the red B button at the top to go straight to the next staff post.

I'm not sure if this is a unique url or what, but thats what I got.
I don't think they would have the savvy to develop something like a Virtual Table top. Lots of high end coding and rendering would need to happen.
At least in the way I envision it.

It isn't a survey if they eliminate people. I'm sure it isn't them doing that. Why would they do that?
