Yeah. (technically 4 pages, though.) I wonder what the Heroic Drive is. Probably just a way to get your character to be "mythic" in flavor?
In the bestiary, there's Typhon. I'm looking forward to that. (If you don't know greek mythology well, Typhon is a "storm" giant with monster heads that can kill gods. I don't know how close this is to the myths.)
In Greek Mythology, Typhon was a creature created by Gaea to oust the gods after they imprisoned the Titans on Tartarus. What Typhon looks like varies a lot.
Yes, but the most common one is a bunch of monster heads, like snakes, lizards, and so on. He's a storm giant, but not in D&D terms, more that he can control weather.

No. While I like greek mythology, I've never thought to myself "I'd sure like to RP a Hoplite sometime..."
It's just not something that interests me for D&D. My interest is your bog standard, dark-age, early middle age fantasy. The weird stuff that they're trying to put out lately, I can only vote against with my wallet.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.

If it's anything like the Amonkhet planeshift, then it's basically just a primer on how a character created on the plane of Theros would look in context. Here on the site, each of the classes has that blurby section with a handful of mini-examples of what that class could look like, then starts talking thematically about the class and how it works lore-wise. It will likely attempt to break down whatever city-states there are, and then a section about devotion (or not) to gods.
I don't play MtG. I had no interest in the book when I heard it was a MtG setting. Aaaannnnd then I listened to the Dragon Talk podcast about the book and I found out it's based a lot on Greek Mythology and suddenly I am very interested!! So YES I will buy it. I don't know if I will buy both digital and physical, but I will buy one.
I have never played MTG. I figure the reason for this was my ex-fiancé taking $1600 dollars out of our wedding fund to buy booster packs. However I am a Legendary Bundle holder so I will take the new book and Ravnica to enhance the games my friends want to play. I would not know it was attached to that stupid card game if I had not read about it on this site.
I probably wouldn’t buy it right now, mainly because my friends and I are still generally new at D&D, and we like the idea of a classic fantasy setting better. But who knows, maybe in the future when I’m a better DM I‘ll want to branch out more. It does look like a fun adventure.

Quick correction: Theros isn't an adventure, it's a setting. There is a small starter adventure inside, but the overall book is not an adventure book.

Digitally it is the first book I have pre-ordered from here, and only the second one I have bought outright. Normally I'd only get a handful of things for my players to use in a shared campaign feature, but I've slowly bought more and more to the point where buying the book digitally may be the cheaper option >_>
I am also getting a physical copy, though that will cost me nothing, since it is being paid for with a credit an online retailer gave me for mucking up about 13 orders since the start of the year.
I haven't really changed my opinion on the book as a whole, I didn't want the setting, wanted something else, but will probably find stuff to enjoy with it. I just don't see the point of getting fully invested in a world that is just a glorified marketing stunt. If you tell me that they will continue to supplement Ravnica and Theros as the years go by, and that eventually the Magic the gathering worlds will be a series of books to form a bizarre plane hopping adventure setting like a mega planescape, then my opinion will probably shift in favor of them. Ravnica was good, but it really needs more reason to exist other than selling cards. So time will tell, and I expect I'll find stuff to like from Theros.
An online retailer screwed up 13 orders for you in less than six months and you're still willing to buy from them?
Well not any more, and several were botched due to the pandemic, so I was very willing to cut them some slack. At this point I have only used the credit. At the time I ordered the things they were doing good, however rolling into feb. they were botching orders left and right, and went completely bad when the pandemic hit the States. That's the problem with pre ordering I suppose.

Bought it as soon as it appeared.

I'm broke, but would buy if I could
I exist, and I guess so does this
I don't care about MtG, but I'm planning to buy a physical copy of the book in order to help support my local game store.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Thank you.

Yep....I will buy it. It's nice to play a setting that I don't have to do vast amounts of research on to usefully set a campaign in.
So, it looks like just over 60% of people have or will buy the Theros book, and 14ish% is undetermined.

Probably next time there is a decent coupon code.

all in all it seems pretty interesting but I have campaigns stocked up well in advance so it might be a year or so before i get around to buying it.
