My 5e Houserule Considerations. Please comment freely.
I have a thought, and pardon if something has been suggested similar as I didn't make it through all the replies with the post. What if, to go along with the current subscription there was also a small credit that would apply to the account that could be used by the subscriber toward future purchases within D&DB. For example, a hero tier sub could gain a $.50 credit each month subscribed and a DM tier could gain a $1. credit. By the end of the year its only $6 - $12 tops off a purchase, but it's still a nice little discount as a reward to subscribe long term and continue purchasing books or supplements within D&DB.
Thinking while I type this, perhaps even a reward program for purchasing book and supplements. For discussion purposes, say 5% of the purchase price spent by the subscriber would come back as a credit towards future purchases. Buy the PHB for the price of $29.99 and get $1.50 off your next purchase, which would be great if a Hero tier just wants to unlock one class for example. This second thought may be a stretch, but I know it would make me much more likely to re-purchase everything again.
I see that the higher tier allows 12 people to join under it, will that allow them to have multiple characters in multiple campaigns under the same subscription? Can a person belong to more than one Campaign under different high level subs?

1) If we purchase a magic item from the DMG $1.99, and then later decide to purchase the magic item bundle for $12.99, will I get a $1.99 discount on the bundle? And then if I buy the DMG itself, would I get a $12.99 discount on the DMG due to having purchased the bundle?
2) What do players get access to when their DM has the Master subscription? All the books the DM has access to? So like, if they buy the PHB / DMG / MM, we would be able to use that content for our characters?
3) What will happen to characters already in the system when this rolls out? Will they still be in the system? We're running a campaign and I wanted to make sure whether or not we'd need to back up our sheets before the 15th.
4) Will the content we currently have access to with free accounts still be accessible after the roll-out? IE if we choose not to purchase anything can we keep playing our current characters with what's available? (We are interested in buying stuff and getting subscriptions but just wanna make sure what the options are.)
I was going to basically write what Rubahak wrote above, so instead imagine I have a big arrow pointing up and me holding a sign saying "watch this space". :)

Thanks. One other question, would I need a Player subscription in order to benefit from my DM's Master subscription? We were talking about pooling our resources into the DM's account.

Something I would really love to see for the Master subscription: Up-sharing books from players. This would help a lot if the DM is poor and one of the players is a massive collector, or if as a group we have all the books but they're spread across multiple people. Sort of the way a RL game would work, we pool our resources and share with the DM.
Do you think this could be a feature of the Master subscription? Rather than sharing the DM's books, the DM allows us to share our books together as a group for the campaign? Heck, if there were a Party subscription which allowed for that, just having the option would be good. Otherwise we'll be choosing the DM based on who has money for books. XD
Actually: What if this were a feature of having a Player subscription when your DM has the Master subscription? IE, if you are a subscribing player, you can share your books with a subscribing DM? Rather than adding a 3rd subscription level. This would address the "one rich player who wants to share" issue.
Edit: Though if you did this you would need to limit a player to only be allowed to "share up" for one campaign at a time. Basically "I'm letting Joe use my books for his game." That way you don't have Rob in every campaign sharing his books with everyone. XD

Do you address that issue pretty well in the announcement?
