Yes. We'll be looking for ways to make it more visible without dedicating an entire nav item to it, and the footer is one of those places.
Thank you kindly.

Just because there is precedence doesn't make it a rule. Nothing specifically states that an exotic language requires using 2 language slots. Therefore it is not a rule.
They never said it was a rule.
They asked for the option to be able to create a similar background for their campaign.

Ah, I understand now. However, they can't possibly add every home brew restriction someone comes up with. If that's a restriction they want, they'll probably just have to list the rules for their campaign and have their players follow them by checking their character sheets before approving them.

Much simpler to say to the players that they can only choose one exotic language. Expecting them to cater to every single possible variance of choices set within the system is impossible.
I know its jumping the gun a bit to ask. But I know y'all are working on equipment revamp next. What can we expect from that? I am hoping to see equipment from Background automatically added to inventory. Is it possible to do something similar with class starting gear vs starting gold? LIke the drop-down menu from attribute improvement where you chose A or B for your gear? And if so how would you implement a drop-down for nonspecific items? Like where it says "A simple weapon" I am guessing something like a drop-down of the simple weapons. With maybe an option to list it to weapons you are proficient in?

Handling all the things you mention is indeed in the scope of what we're doing currently.
On equipment, it would be nice to have a visual UI reminiscent of some RPG equipment sheets: one that shows the character, visually, with boxes for rings, armor, shoes, backpack, pouch, weapon slots, and so on. Just so you can see what's equipped and what's available for each slot, and slots that don't even have anything available to equip there. I don't have my heart set on anything specific, I'm just spitballing, and I know that you're pretty far into a major redesign, so feel free to ignore this,

The bigger challenge is that fifth edition has done away with the concept of magic item "slots." You can technically wear ten rings (or more if your race has more than ten fingers) as long as only three of them require attunement. If we made a more visual representation, it would potentially confuse some players and that new way the rules work.
We're definitely looking into how we can best display it long-term, so we'll see what happens.

I'm not too keen on this because for the most part magic items are rare now and are limited more by attunement slots than body part. The only meaningful slots would be left hand, right hand and armor.
What I'd really like to see is equipment containers, so if I drop my backpack or put items in a Bag of Holding, my encumbrance doesn't take the items in those bags into account.

I agree that slots are no longer a thing. But viewing a character that holds, wears things in different spots, and carries things in various containers is more intuitive than viewing a long list of things that are narrowed by search terms. The image need not have limited slots: different weapon payloads are a common implementation of this kind of UI, even without limiting slots.
One thing I recall from the Dungeonscape beta fiasco is that WOTC is apparently very strongly opposed to any kind of "video game style" or "paper doll" inventory management, for some reason. Not sure how much of a say they have in the finished product this time around, but back then this was apparently presented to the designers as a hard stop issue. They were apparently even a bit iffy about equipping items on the character sheet.
i really like the Background revamp, i would love a starting equipment button that took class and background starting equipment and added them to the character with coices being added where indicated on starting gear.

That's next on the list.

A changelog is going to be awesome. Great way to be able to focus on testing the new stuff and provide useful pointed feedback!
