Rweni finishes her watch with Soloth and dons her armor. She watches the sisters in the wagon before reciting a silent prayer to Sune for safe travels. “Let’s get heading towards that checkpoint and drop the princesses off to safety. We can press towards the mountains after.”
Rweni mounts up onto the carriage, with a bolt loaded into her crossbow, sitting shotgun.
Eliza nods and sits pretty close to the front of the wagon, while Elizabeth stays close to her. About half a day passes before a large fort is seen in the distance. "There it is," Eliza says, pointing towards the fort. "Just follow the road towards the gate, and let me handle talking to the guards." She quickly fishes through the bag on her waist and procures an amulet with the symbol of Udan on it. "This outpost is actually a small bordertown that actually thrives on travelers passing through. The checkpoint on the side that we are on acts as a toll collector for merchants bringing in merchandise, and to protect the citizens of the country. The captain of the guard, is actually my uncle, so it won't be to hard to verify my identity. The High Mage of the outpost is capable of 9th level spells as he is the student of the Grand Mage of the country."
As your wagon approaches the gate a guard stops you and begins his approach. "Name and reason for passage?" he asks as he approaches, as Eliza gets out, amulet around her neck. As she approaches the guard he freezes and yells to get the captain. He appears at the ready for a fight in case she is an imposter. A couple minutes later, and the captain, a middle aged human male, who kinda resembles Faramir from the LotR movies approaches alongside a half-elf in armor. Upon seeing her the Half-elf immediately casts dispel magic on her, using the full verbal component and a wand to cast.

It is 9th level.
Once he finished casting the spell, he quickly knelt before her. The captain seeing this quickly ran up to her calling the other guards to approach quickly. "Your highness," he began,"are you okay, what happened." Eliza quickly explains what happened, and the help all of you gave. After helping Eliza back into the wagon, he says to all of you "Please come in," looking at all for you and motioning for you to drive the wagon into the town. "If you are willing, we would like to show some hospitality, it would be best to head to the fort so we can give you the money her highness promised." He does not appear to like any of you.
As the wagon approaches the checkpoint, Rweni lowers her crossbow and sets it down as a gesture of goodwill and showing no hostility. She watches with extreme interest at the display and attention given to the Princess. As the half-elf waves his wand and casts a spell, Rweni tries to understand what is going on, based on her father’s lineage.

Rweni notes that the Captain and half-elf appear reassured at the Princess after the spell has been cast; however, she cannot help notice the feeling of hostility towards the rest of the wagon’s members in the party.

You sense that they just don't fully trust you at this time. They haven't gotten a good look at the party either, so they haven't even seen the symbol of Sune on your armor. You get the sense that while you there isn't going to be any ambush, you might be forced to answer some questions under a zone of truth spell.
When prompted, Soloth drives the wagon as he is directed, without a word. Something about the captain of the guard seems off, he thinks to himself, but doesn't vocalize this feeling to the rest of the party yet, considering all the other guards around. Regardless, he keeps an eye on the captain to make sure.
Insight if needed: 20
After thinking about it, and seeing how he is looking at his nieces, it is clear that he is a very loving uncle who cares deeply for his family. He is just wary of these strangers that escorted his nieces back to Udan, before they could reach their destination.
As your wagon approaches the fort and comes to a stop, Eliza and her sister are helped out of the wagon, but before they could escort them inside, Eliza demanded that you all be repaid and restocked before she would head in. Her uncle took her out of earshot while Elizabeth was taken inside, and after awhile Eliza comes back to the party. "I hope you all will forgive my uncle's rudeness. There was a attempted coup several years ago, in which my uncle lost his wife and kids perished. He is very protective of family, he is refusing to pay you all until after a cleric has cast zone of truth and you all have explained the situation. I am very sorry." Eliza says, remorse showing on her face. Its obvious that she had hoped the situation wouldn't turn out this way, but it did. "If you all are willing, I would at least like to extend on offer of dinner to you all after everything had been sorted out."
After about an hour, a cleric of Sune approaches the party, and immediately notices Rweni's symbol on her armor.
"Forgive me paladin," He says with a slight bow, customary to one member of the church, greeting another. "But I will be casting zone of truth to verify the situation." He quickly cast the zone of truth,
-assuming you all, or some of you choose to fail; you tell him of what happened, a wave of relief passing over the captains face as he hears what happened and how you came to the rescue. The guard captain approaches the wagon and bows slightly, "Forgive for earlier, I just wanted to make sure nothing happened to my nieces. My sis... I mean, her majesty the queen would be rather angry with me if I didn't make sure. Allow me to properly introduce myself, I am Duke Oswine Tragrut, son of the late Empress Melisa Udan, and brother of Empress Alicia Udan."
((OOC - Udan run by a Empress, instead of a Emperor.))
“Thank you, Princess, for your hospitality and invitation to extend a dinner request. While I feel more comfortable seeing another servant of Sune, I do not speak for the other member’s of our party.”
Rweni, having nothing to hide, has no issues with the spell and turns to the Captain afterwards, ”That is terrible to hear and I certainly have new-found empathy towards your position of being so protective of those whom remain. To lose so many is not an easy thing to cope with. Perhaps, if my company is agreeable to it, we can discuss more over dinner. If not, perhaps our paths will cross again in better and trusting circumstances.”
Rweni talks to Andarel, Soloth, Fen and Trilaxa separately, ”What are your all thoughts? I know Andarel is skeptical and probably still wants to move on. Do we want to accept the dinner invitation and see if there is any more information we can collect regarding these rifts? So far, we don’t know a whole lot. Maybe the Empress or the Captain knows something more, especially if they have outposts and checkpoints over their kingdom, surely information is coming in to the Empress?”
Andarel makes sure that she steps out of the Zone of Truth and remains silent to any questions, simply stating as she walks out "All tell same story, only one needs prove true. Not answering nothing else."
After Rweni seems to smooth things over with the officials, Andarel looks visibly relieved, and pipes in once the subject of dinner invites come up, "Fancy dinner only costs time. Soloth right, might give information to make up lost time later."

Rweni slowly nods and turns to Princess Eliza, “Dinner sounds lovely. Do you happen to have quarters you can put us up so that we might change into something a little more comfortable for dinner?”
Rweni grabs her pack from the wagon with a change of clothes and other essentials, “Also, Andarel and Soloth here make a good point. Do you know of anyone to invite that we can discuss these mysterious rifts over dinner? There seem to be more questions than answers. And with the exception of a mage that we are seeking, we’re sort of confounded.”
"Yes we do, the servants will take you too them." Eliza says, before turning to her Uncle to see what he has to say.
Oswine thinks to himself for a moment before saying,"Our best bet would be to invite mister Louise. The head of the Fourth Circle Merchant Organization. He has connections all over the world, and is currently in town on business. Would you like me to send him an invitation?" Oswine asks, looking over at Eliza. From his body language, it seams as though he does not fully trust this Louise person, despite them being the best possible option.
"Yes please, also prepare the messenger hawks. I plan on informing mother about the citation, as well as informing the council of nations that we will be late. I will right the message myself." She says, causing a guard to run off into the fort, and another to head of into town. A short while later, a maid comes out of the fort and escorts all of you inside. Each of you is given a room to change in, once you change you are then escorted into a private meal hall. It seams to mostly be used for when their are important guests at the fort, instead of the normal meal hall used by everyone else. When you all arrive, you see Oswine sitting next to Elizabeth on her right, with Eliza at the head of the table, and the High Mage sitting on Eliza's left. Across from them is a well dressed gentlemen sitting next to a well dressed woman. They appear to be having a private discussion as you enter. As you enter he turns his head to you and smiles.
"Why hello their newcomers. You must be the one's that have a need for some information." He says, standing up. He enters a strange bow, as his right leg crosses over the left and he bends at the waist as continues, "I am Louise Draksten, none of you need to introduce yourselves to me. I am fully aware of one each one of you are."

Rweni takes a seat at the table on the opposite side of Louise and Eliza to engage in meaningful conversation. ”Louise, do you know perhaps what causes a rift to happen? Are they magical in nature? Is it a deity that is causing them? We were on our way to visit a mage in the Vostland Mountain range. Honestly, we do not know where or what this mage’s name is. We do know that he is very powerful and that gives me pause; however, we have no other leads. I just hope that if we find this mage he, or she, is reasonable for discussion.”
Rweni pauses thoughtfully, “Though, I cannot imagine that anyone who is creating these rifts bringing in all sorts of fiendish monstrosities has good intentions. By Sune’s love, I hope I am wrong. Maybe these rifts got out of control.” Rweni pauses and digs in to the meal that has been served before the group.

"Well to answer your first question, divination spells do exist darling. As for your remaining questions, however... it will take some time to explain. So lets eat, and while we eat I will explain." Louise says, sitting back down in his chair. The woman he was sitting next to remains quiet. As the party sits down at the table to eat, meals and drinks are brought out for everyone to drink. After a quick glance at the woman who ust nods at him, Louise begins to answer the questions. "So for what is causing the rifts to happen... Trilaxa, seemingly unfazed, asks, "So what's being served for dinner?"
Rweni fails to stifle a laugh at Trilaxa’s remark after the conversation took a serious tone moments earlier. She composes herself quickly enough, “A deity? I hope that mage in Vostland will be able to assist us somehow, though it seems making it to him is going to be part of the trial. May we rest this evening and strike out first thing tomorrow, Princess?”
Rweni dabs at her mouth after eating and picks up her glass with wine and takes a sip. “We will do our best to figure this out. I don’t know how I feel about Louise, Marry and that mysterious gentleman. But, my initial feeling is that it is not good.”
