Background/Backstory: Halvoril learned his bardic trade from Thib the Enchanting Storyteller. It was not smooth going in the beginning and frankly Thib treated him like a servant. Through those years of hard labor he picked a spattering of skills. The one that really stuck was carpentry as Master Thib was quite demanding an expected improvements to be made to any room they were staying at.
In time after leaving Master Thib, he gained enough of a reputation to have earned him a permanent post playing for a noble house in Neverwinter. It was not enough, there was a restlessness growing in him. Havoril overheard his Patron speak of a venture in settling in Leilon. He was so excited he rushed into the study and volunteered himself. Finally a new challenge. His patron was quite skeptical, but relented after Havoril convinced him of his skills and hardiness. The next day he was given the deed to a plot of land and with that he whisked himself to Leilon as fast as he could.
For background, are you:
Land and property is valuable along the Sword Coast. For their service, someone with a vested interest in Leilon might offer the characters their own land. They could use this land to build a business, a stronghold, a tower, or any other structure that they like. If you choose this option you may claim a plot of land in Leilon as your own, though you are responsible to finance any buildings on it.
We had a couple players unable to continue, so I'm reopening recruitment. If those who've posted a character here are still interested and want to use the same character, just say that you're interested.
I would definitely still be interested in playing. The character i already created can remain my submission.
I'd like to apply again with a new character, but similar background. - I'd also like to go point buy instead of these scores if that's alright
Name: Rawlings
Race: Tiefling
Class: Warlock
Background: I had my original character as a spy, and I would lean this way - but am open to other options if it works better since the story has already started. Just let me know!
Rawlings has always been a bit of loner, she always figured that's how most tieflings were. She got by fine on her own, but restless. This restlessness led to a sense of adventure, a sense of roaming and has since run into a thin spot where the feywild crosses over. Being bored and wanting something new to her life, she made a deal with a fairy, a pact. She isn't sure what all the details were of that pact, just wanted to experience something new - something about having to go to the feywild at some point? Either way, that would probably be exciting as well.
I'd love to join - the character I had originally submitted was picked up in another campaign. So I'm using the same rolled stats to submit a different character if that's ok.
Name: Sabetha Ravenscale (link to DDB character sheet) Race: Wood Half-Elf Class/Subclass: Hexblade Pact Warlock (2) / College of Eloquence Bard (5+) Background/Backstory: See (first) spoiler below.
Background: 5. Love of Adventure
Backstory: Kicked out of the Harpers! Sabetha is torn between being mortified as her legendary aunt Lyra surely must be, and exhilirated. Between desperately wanting to follow in the half-elven Lyra's footsteps and bucking the inevitable comparisons. Sabetha has always held an uneasy admiration for Lyra, the accomplished diplomat, Harper agent (and warlock and spy). As her protege, Sabetha has also never been able to discern whether she is her aunt's favorite or somehow just the opposite. One day, just over a year ago, Lyra passed to Sabetha her prized harmonica with an enigmatic smile. A strange, dull black instrument. The source of Lyra's and now Sabetha's magic. It stains Sabetha's lips like dark lipstick, just as it had for Lyra, and she senses something... shadowy about it. As Lyra walked away, Sabetha could have sworn she heard her aunt murmuring "free at last." Sabetha understands somewhere deep down that she has made a... pact she had not been fully aware of making. With a dark Raven Queen, chaotic life-stealing demigod of Shadowfell.
But unlike Lyra, Sabetha could not stick with the Harpers in Waterdeep. She remembers the final meeting with the big man himself. The spymaster, Mirt. No one could argue with her good intentions, he had informed Sabetha, but she was unreliable and rash, with questionable methods. Unsound, even. No ill feelings. And if things changed... well, nothing is forever.
It feels like forever to Sabetha as of right now, though. On the long coastal road north from Waterdeep towards Leilon and eventually Neverwinter. The City of Skilled Hands and Jewel of the North. What Sabetha hopes will be a new start. She enjoys the open air and the breeze, away from the bustle and intrigue of Waterdeep. She feels the salt tang of adventure in the air and exhilaration wins out over regret. She lifts her Raven Harmonica to her lips and begins to play a folk tune she had once heard a wood elf grandfather play, far to the east near the headwaters of the Dessarin. A song about courage, and finding save haven in a storm...
Vandeyr - half elf - sage - warlock (fiend - blade) - Friends and Family
Vandeyr's brother has come to settle in the hopes of finding a wife, and a good life. He invited Vandeyr because he thinks Vandeyr could use a new start. Van has been acting paranoid, hearing things and obsessing over old books in strange languages. Maybe a bit of fresh air, and new scenery will help him to get out of his rut.
Van knows that the fiend he made a contract with won't let him be for free. And it keeps teaching him things. He's worried it'll all end in tears, but he can't deny the strength he feels with its aid. He also can't help but feel that it all has to do with this new town they've come to. Like the devil had a plan.
For the majority of his life Kalum had lived in solitude in the forest of Kryptgarden and had scarcely left only having done so when the forest was invaded by men looking for lumber. When he had gone to confront these trespasser's to drive them off was stopped and berated rather fiercely by the one supervising the process somewhat impressed by their ability too cow him, Kalum had decided to allow them to continue their endeavor and take his conversation with the 'Forewomen" learning that they had been 'Contracted' by a local 'Lord' to acquire materials to build housing, following that encounter Kalum had decided to follow the trespasser's back to their territory before heading back to his forest but has visited Leilon on a number of occasions afterwards in an attempt to strike up a friendship with the women who had rebuked him so.

I would definitely still be interested in playing the half-orc wildfire druid described on page 1. Thanks for the consideration!
I forgot to mention, the current party consists of a cleric and two fighters. The players that had to drop out were playing a sorcerer and a monk.

Thank you all for the applications, I asked the party what they'd like and so invited the two people we'll need for now.
