I'm dm'ing a campaign and one of my players, a dragonborn fighter wants to make a homebrew class in dndbeyond that centers around him using his scales like bullets and https://routerlogin.uno/ other things like that. One ability he wanted to put into the subclass was being able to give someone +5 to their ac as a reaction twice per short rest https://192168ll.link/. We spent about 2 hours trying to navigate dndbeyond but came up short. Looking for any advise on what we should try doing.
D&D Beyond does not support temporary effects right now. Easiest would be to make a magic item with a bonus to armor class that you can equip and unequip.
To create the reaction you would need to create an “Action” attached to the subclass feature and set it up with an Activation Type of Reaction and a Reset Type of Short Rest and [SAVE] it. Then you would have to edit that new action and scroll all the way down to the bottom and you will see two new sub forms available. You would add the 2 uses to the appropriate subform.
