Earth/Air - Dust Mephit
Air/Water - Ice Mephit
Earth/Fire - Magma Mephit
Earth/Water - Mud Mephit

Fire/Water - Steam Mephit
4 combinations for adjacent elements and 2 for opposites.
We have different Mephits for every combination of two elements, even the contrary ones, but what about combinations of 3 or even 4?
Air/Fire/Water - somewhere between Smoke, Steam, and Ice…Mist Mephit?
Earth/Fire/Water - somewhere between Magma, Mud, and Steam…Steel Mephit? Quicksilver Mephit?
Earth/Air/Water - somewhere between Dust, Mud, and Ice…Permafrost Mephit?
Earth/Air/Fire - somewhere between Dust, Magma, and Smoke…Ash Mephit?
Earth/Air/Fire/Water - Primordial Mephit?
What do you all think? More ideas on possible combinations of three? Ideas on details for each? Ideas for a Primordial Mephit?
I dunno, mist seems like it would just be a cold version of a steam Mephit, and ash would just be a hot version of dust Mephit. Permafrost Mephits seem like they would be just like ice Mephits, and steel/quicksilver doesn’t make much sense.
Other ideas for Earth/Fire/Water?
I got the Steel idea from the forging process:
You take metal, something of earth
Heat it up ludicrously, something of fire
Then quench, something of water
(somewhere in there is some shaping and sharpening, but that doesn’t really have any elemental affinity)
Clay?

Fired or not?
Without firing it, wouldn’t it just be just like mud?

So what would it’s abilities/personality be like?
Take magma, add water
Take mud, add fire
Take steam, add earth
…could there be three different mephits for Earth/Fire/Water? Or the others?
Could this also apply to the primordial mephit?

There could be 3 for each, but for the primordial I would just make one of them and add everything to it like the kitchen sink.
Air/Fire/Water could be the components for a storm, with Fire either just being the heat that fuels hurricanes or fire/air being lightning.
Earth/Water/Fire could be the components of living creatures if again you take a bit of liberty with fire to be the spark of life. Meat mephit!
Or Earth/Water/Air could be life if you could count Air as spirit.
You pretty much have to get figurative at this level because you have at least one pair of opposites in each one.
