Soren holds a tiny piece of fur in his fingers and gestures with it, calling out for his spirit wolf ally, Spike (casting and concentrating on Summon Beast - beast of the land.) Leaving the wolf to engage in melee in conjunction with the party's warriors, Soren backs away from the arch 30' further.
As he does so, he tries to look around to make sure the arch is not just a distraction for some external attack (substitutes for bonus action?)
As for Spike (who acts immediately after Soren), the spirit wolf steps forward and readies an attack on any foe that comes through the arch. A low growl emanates from the wolf's throat as it faces the unnatural intruder.

Next turn Soren will likely summon his owl familiar Nettle and his bear spirit totem as a bonus action, giving everyone 9 Temp HP, including Spike and Nettle, but not yet. So as of now:
The Arch suddenly gives a bright pulse capturing Brix, Garmuk, Thom, and Ursa in a hellishly cold blast. (Con Save DC 15 or lose 1d4 Dex.) (On a Nat 1 a Character must make a 13 Wisdom save each time they take a long rest. Failure results in that character gaining no benefits from a long rest. A Remove curse removes this condition.)
Thom Con save 18, he would take this a a reason to attack the arch, as odd it it might be, what he knows is that the magic came from the arch and that for the most part the only way to stop magic is to break it. Attack: 18 Damage: 7
(Brix) The arch once led to a shadow road that fed into the greater White Road nearby. At some point, the connection collapsed, and the arch went dormant. Recently, however, the archway has been showing signs of life, prompting interest from others in the region.
