Dead in Thay Game Thread

Baik moves closer to the Owlbears, casts his spell at the Owlbear hiding behind the trees (the tree grant 3/4 cover, but the spell nagaten the cover.) 

OB4 Dex save 16

Feeling angered by the green fire the two Owlbears by the start moving towards the party in a different hostile manner. 

OB1 moves out of the radiance and attacks Eiren with her beak Attack: 26 Damage: 15 followed by a Claw Attack: 22 Damage: 12, Mauling Eiren. 

OB2 stands up (I forgot that he was laying down when I did the map, so he will dash and be in the E,F columns instead of the F,G columns, right below Baik) and dashes to the person who attacked his cub with Holy Fire.

Seeing there parents attack the party the cubs follow suit. 

OB3 comes out of hiding and comes face to face with the Brown Bear. Unable to decide if the similar creature is friend or foe, she makes a little playful growl.

OB4 moves north to try to circle around and attack from the rear.

A fifth Owlbear (OB5) makes a ruckus moving through the trees and ends up behind his mother.

Eiren, Corvin, and Velmine are up 

Drawing his rapier, Eiren takes the hits on his sword arm as he tries (unsuccessfully) to dodge. He is able to get enough of his rapier in between to avoid being mauled to death, but he needs to get out of this disadvantageous situation quickly. 

Spinning his sword now in a concentrated effort, Eiren begins his bladesong, performing figure-8 style distractions with the tip of the sword, and punctuating seemingly random swings with stabs aimed at the owlbear’s eyes.

Rapier Attack 1: 28 Damage: 19 piercing 

Rapier Attack 2: 14 Damage: 14 piercing 

Eiren's rapier find ghe Owlbear's eye, and with his second attack Eiren drives the blade into her brain. The Owlbear drops dead at Eiren's feet. When you pull the rapier free it is covered in blood and gray matter. 

Corvin and Velmine are up 

Velmine looks at the bear and owlbear scene a bit confused at first, but she rapidly makes a plan out of it on the spot. She gives in a whisper the bear the command to act nicely, maybe giving a smile, and making himself look like a friend to the owlbear, since apparently that's what the owlbear wants.

With that being done, she leaves the bear behind and goes to step closer to Eiren, stopping just by his side and face to face with OB1 (Is C18 the place I'm trying to land? I'm not sure. I'm hoping those two directions help narrow it down.) There, she uses the rapier to injure the creature.

Attack: 13 Damage: 20

(I killed OB1)

Velmine OB1 is dead, make another move. I'll let you keep the roll, as long as you are still using your rapier and can use sneak attack. 

Seeing the first owlbear fall, Corvin stays where he is and launches a Sacred Flame at OB2.

DC17 Dex save or 8 radiant damage.

OB2 Dex save 18

Corvin's Sacred Flame misses the closest Owlbear. 

Velmine redo your turn (see my last post)

Velmine heads instead toward OB5 and stops in front of him (B19), and doesn't hesitate to draw and plunge her rapier on the owlbear.

Same roll (Sneak attack from Rakish Audacity.)

 No problem, part of the reason I end "each" my posts with who is up, is so if you guys/gals are in a hurry, you only have to read the last post. I bold it to make sure you see it easily. Of course the other reason is I like to keep the game rolling, and if I think you are talking a while responding (2 to 4 days usually), I might send you a PM to remind you that you are up.

Velmine moves forward past the slain mother Owlbear, and attacks the younger Owlbear that was behind her. Velmine's rapier does its customarily bloody job and and leaves the Owlbear seriously wounded. 

Xavier and Baik (also Qu'oth, but I assume he will wait for Eiren) are up 

Xavier launches a fire bolt at OB2

Attack: 15 Damage: 16

Baik stabs at the Owlbear (OB2)

 Attack: 20 Damage: 7

Attack: 12 Damage: 9

Between Xavier and Baik's attacks the Male Owlbear falls down dead. 

The Owlbear (OB3) by the Brown Bear makes some noises and paw the ground as a free action. The Brown Bear knows that she is saying something like "Those Humanoids are killing my parents, lets take them out together". She then charges and attacks (1= Corvin, 2=Eiren, 3= Velmine) 3 Velmine with her Beak Attack: 8 Damage: 8 followed by her Sweeping Claws Attack: 7 Damage: 15 mauling Velmine badly. 

The Owlbear to the north (OB4) moves around the tree and attacks (1=Baik, 2= Xavier) 2 Baik with his Beak Attack: 22 Damage: 10 followed by his Sweeping Claws Attack: 25 Damage: 27. Hitting Baik with his powerful beak, but missing with his claws. 

The wounded Owlbear (OB5) retaliates by attacking Velmine with his Beak Attack: 18 Damage: 8 followed by his Sweeping Claws Attack: 24 Damage: 14, but Due to blood loss his attacks are weak and don't penetrate your armor. 

 Eiren, Corvin, and Velmine are up 

Corbin swings his hammer at OB3. 

Attack: 19 Damage: 11

Eiren has Qu’oth swoop down and harry the owlbear that is attacking Velmine, and tries to distract it with stabs from his rapier.

Attack: 23 Damage: 8 piercing 

(Third die from Elven Accuracy: 26)

Attack 2: 19 Damage: 12 piercing 

Corvin's warhammer slams into the Owlbear and then Eiren's rapier flashes out twice, cutting the cute young Owlbear down. OB3 is dead.

Velmine is up 

Velmine was expecting the bear to have distracted OB3, so the sudden rush attack takes her by surprise and manages to hit two powerful blows on her. With Uncanny Dodge she gets lucky enough to diminish the second's attack damage, but it was still quite a strong hit.

She reels back to attack it, but after her teammates make quick work of it, she gives an embarrassed smile and responds. "Hm, thanks, you lot. That was unquestionably impressive..." Just after that, she turns around and attacks OB5 with her rapier.

Attack: 15 Damage: 27 (I'd lose sneak attack if OB3 was there, but now that she's gone, Velmine can get that bonus from Rakish Audacity.)

On OB3's last breaths, the bear gives her a teary eyed face, and the bear's equivalent of "I'm sorry", as the Owlbear finally succumbs to her fate.
