Ink will ask around about Harshnag, the Red Tiger clans and possible refugees from Rip's town. If he finds any spellslingers or godly people, he'll throw in a few questions about the "evil that took over Noaners Hold."
The Flaming Flagon is packed with all sorts of individuals, most of them seeming to be either in traveling clothes or in tailored garb.
// Let me know what you're thinking in terms of how you go about this, or if you have a certain outcome in mind. I'd like an ability check but not sure which one yet. Please elaborate :) //
Aaaaand he'll also ask how the Flaming Flagon is doing what it's doing (floating and what not) . . .
By only wondering aloud, Ink already has three people telling him the story. "It was a dark night, no good comes out of a night like this one..."
After several minutes, Ink learns that there was a duel between two spellcasters. At one point in the duel, the flagon was hit by a spell or two, and became enchanted.
"It's been like that for nigh on two score!" The man finishes proudly.
"What rubbish, it's been like that for a century!" Says his friend.
Ink will ask soldiers about reports on the frost giant, thinking that the sight of one would be pretty impactful in this area. He'll specifically those who saw the stone giants, or those who escaped them, about the Red Tiger Clan remembering that they were taking advantage of the chaos the stone giants were causing.
Regarding Noaners Hold, he'll ask the soldiers if an arcanist was attached to the unit and if so, attempt to find him in order to discuss lore regarding the town, its history and provide a description of the tentacle-face necromancer they saw.
He'll seek out what seems to be the most established religious enclave in the town, if any, and pose similar questions.
He'll be matter of fact throughout most of this as if conducting an investigation, borderline thoughtless on the mood of the town given that wisdom and charisma are not his strongest points.
Ink will also be on the lookout for hidden signs of Orcus - this town is not terribly far away, so Ink figures there's a chance of influence reaching here.

“That is unfortunate. I see that fact has not changed in the time since I deactivated.” Crownsguard states as he enters the inn once more. Oddly enough, Crownsguard’s armor seems to be folded at his side. His frame seems to shift and reconfigure itself as if it were a living organism. Additionally, Crownsguard’s movements seem stronger and sleeker than before, almost like a machine that has received much needed maintenance. “I have spent the hours of this morning conversing with the local militia. They seem to be upstanding. However, if you prefer, we can deliver him to Everlund.”

"Honestly, I say we let the soldiers have him. We aren't going to get a reward or anything and the longer we have him the longer something can go wrong." He hesitates, "Also to be frank, this piece of garbage doesn't deserve more of our time while we are looking for Rip's family."
“There are many stories in which a noble is trapped amongst country folk. Eventually, he learns proper values and turns away from his old life, using his status and funds in a truly good manner. Perhaps this could happen.”

The soldiers Ink has talked to are in high spirits, enjoying their drink and relishing an opportunity for conversation. When asked about the frost giant, Red Tiger clan and the stone giants, it's fairly obvious that the soldiers have no idea about any connection between barbarians and stone giants. "We haven't seen many barbarians between here and Everlund, and I don't know anyone who can tell one of their clans from another—truth be told, I didn't realize they even had clans til you mentioned! Still, word is that there is a giant going round killing other giants! If you can believe that.
"And very interesting that you mention giants and barbarians...we saw a grisly sight on the way here, we were doing some exercises after breaking camp a good 15 miles or so away...and we saw a group of barbarians, easy to tell from the fact that they wasn't wearing much of anything and had lots of primitive weapons...they was all cut down to a man, most of 'em with heads lopped off or completely smashed...like someone with a giant foot just came down on 'em and squished the heads flat." The soldier is staring far-off, looking at nothing in particular, as he recounts the tale.
When asked about an arcanist, the soldier says, "You mean like a wizard? Yeah, we had one, but he's being court-marshaled right now on account of his drinking on duty! Rather silly if you ask me; only reason it's happening is because he made some lewd comments to the wife of the hold's lord." You can attempt to find him, but it might take some schmoozing with someone higher up the command chain (Intelligence with advantage due to your general knowledge of the Silver Marches, and possibly a Charisma check to get in his good graces. Or you could take a different tack. Let me know!).
There is a shrine to Lathander in town, and asking around you are able to learn that the lead cleric is a half-elf who the village people call Nomephel.
No undead have been sighted in the vicinity, and most people when asked about Orcus reply something to the effect of, "No, the orcs stay pretty far from us. The walls keep us safe!"
As you discuss these things among yourselves, Lezryk remains quiet. If you happen to look at him, you'll notice than his skin has taken a yellowish tinge and he is shivering.

The militia out of Everlund are a surly and rowdy bunch, but they seem to be honest and chivalrous kind of folk—if a bit given to excess in drink.
