Races also seem unlikely, as they seem to be playtesting them in UA less and less often, but they are still possible
perhaps if the race itself nessesitates some radical mechanic that might affect the game in weird ways such as an tri-kreen race that actiually has four arms, psionics, natural armor and a poisonous bite or something along those lines
WotC has said they only plan on making a new class if a setting necessitates it, so...we *might* get a psion of some sort with Dark Sun if they ever decide to tackle that, but otherwise? Prolly not gonna happen, unfortunately...

is there any other class that would be that interconnected with an setting other than artificers with ebberon and psionics with dark sun? I cannot think of any setting that would need a new base character class

Psionics would be easy to give them as a racial trait/feat. Gith and Kalashtar already have inherent psionics.
A new class is the most unlikely of any of the other options, as WotC has made their stance on new classes very clear.
hey what do you mean by that? Have they said that they are not going to try to make any more proper classes past the artificer and subclass options?
What Mez said.
Also, we're about 7 years into 5e, and we've only gotten 1 new class since the PHB has been released. If that doesn't scream "WE HATE MAKING NEW CLASSES" to you, I'm not sure what would.

They hated making the Artificer. Which is disappointing since it is the best designed class in 5e. My bet is we ain’t getting another new class this edition.
Fully agree. I love the Artificer class. It has a lot of the great customizability that the Warlock has, while being very versatile and powerful. Warlocks are a very customizable class, but WotC made the mistake of making Eldritch Blast spamming too appealing. They didn't make that mistake for the Artificer, where any subclass (yes, even the Alchemist on occasion) can be very effective and worth playing.

Prediction: the next UA document will be a selection of twenty new pairs of magical pants and new rules for creating and adjudicating Arcane Tailoring as an Advanced Background option.

Pants of the (Fake) Archmage: While wearing these pants you know the Major Illusion spell and can cast it at will if you are attempting to replicate the appearance of another spell.
The pants look like pants but upon closer inspection are actually long shorts

Alchemist was helped by the new creature rules from Tasha's. Now a Homunculus can deliver your stuff with a BA!

so magical clothesperson? Like i get that this is a joke but that honestly sounds neat if broadened even slightly. "Magewright" as an background option who can make certain especially low-value common magic items by default and much faster, or who can cast versions of certain cantrips that ONLY work within their trade (such as the examples of an chef who can cast prestidigitation only on food or a launderer / clothesperson who can cast prestidigitation or mending but only on cloth, such as what is discussed here). A background that only gave one of those benefits is something i could see as narrow and flavourful enough to be a background feature.
(and when i say low-value common magic item, i mean like something worth less than the typical 50 gp, perhaps a pair of magically cleansing pants or a cloak of billowing that is worth only between 30 and 15 gold pieces)

However, the extra arms could need playtesting.

. . . That's my point. You can do 1d10+5 magical damage each bite, regaining HP 6 times a day.
