Is there any way to add an extra domain to a cleric fx via feat ?
The background is that a Chauntea cleric (Life domain) has helped Kelemvor (grave domain) a lot by actions not by worship. I would like to let Kelemvor bless the person by adding the grave domain powers to the cleric as an extra domain as the cleric gains the ability to pull on Kelemvors powers as well as Chaunteas. The cleric does not need to worship Kelemvor but just acknowledge him as a part of Chaunteas circle of life.
You could add some powers via a feat, but to add the entire domain in addition to their current domain (which is super OP BTW), you would have to homebrew a couple of their subclass that has both sets of powers and they would have to switch their character to your version of the subclass.
Overpowered is not that much of a problem and it is not that much.
Clerics have become a bit underpowered when looking at the spells and this is for a cleric with 7 in strength, so not a good fighter so spells and spell-like effects is almost the ownly thing he has going for him.
I know of it as well as gauntlet of ogre power which sets strength to 19
Giving a character +12 or just the +8 in strength you suggest is very overpowered and much more than giving a domain more. It also makes him less unique and too near the fighting classes
I don't want to dogpile on you here, but if you think that giving someone a 15 STR is more overpowered than giving them an entire second subclass for free, you might want to get to know the game a bit better before diving so deep into homebrew. Clerics are generally not considered to be underpowered at all versus other classes.
My suggestion would be to grant the player Path of the Grave only as an additional Channel Divinity option. You still get the same concept but without going overboard. That would probably be equivalent to a Very Rare magic item.
I was mainly wanting to know how and not the discussion of the decision. It would be very difficult for others to be in on the discussion without knowing more about play style etc. I will leave it at that.
I might not give all of the grave domain but it might not be needed as it seems that the player leans more towards selling his soul and those of twelve innocent children and their protector to a demon for more power, change of alignment that follows and the difficulty having to juggle demon deal with worship of Chauntea.
