"Really? I would have heard if a demon of that strength came into power."
"they are-secretive to say the least."
"A secretive demon. Quite a rare thing."
"Ju-just because you fight de-demons, does not mean the-the demons are idiots."
"I'm aware of that. But they're rarely subtle enough to conceal themselves so thoroughly. It's not a matter of intelligence. It's a matter of pride and greed."
The halfling(whose name is Lial) laughs out loud
"you have not met enough demons, it seems."
"I've met plenty. I've killed nearly as much."
Poppy pokes her head in, "Hi, i'd like to ask about what youre talking about :)"
"Demons. Such as the one you serve."
"Yeah, he's real nice. What demon are you dealing with?"
"Oh, I was just talking about how many I've killed."
"Oooo, cool"
He gives her a patronizing look. "So you're one of those."
"And what do you mean by that?"
"The ones who think everything is great."
"And you just earned my wrath," She says with a smile
"You're only proving my point."
"I would like you to pick between two options, tell me everyting about the demon or i beat you with a spoon"
"Hmmmm....... are they evil?" Avery tilts their head with genuine curiosity
"Not at all. Eilistraee protected my people from the vengeance of our evil kin, the Drow. You see, there was, and still is, a great schism between those elves on the surface and the Drow. The goddess the Drow serve is Lloth, the Spider Queen and Mistress of Chaos, and she attempted to usurp the position of Corellon Larethian, the head of the Seldarine, the Elven sub-pantheon. A great war ensued, and the Drow, or al the Drow who followed Lloth, were driven deep into the underdark. My people once considered ourselves the same as the Drow, but when they started believing the teachings of Lloth, we quickly broke away. The true Drow, as they call themselves, attacked us first and foremost at the outbreak of that war." Soldaer grows quiet for a minute, as though contemplating his people's history.
"Mielikki," he continues, "is a good deity, and those who follow her teachings are the first line of defense against the wilds, and against those evil creatures who would cause harm to the innocent."
"So they drove an entire species under ground because they pray to a spider mommy?"
"There's more to it than that, but too much for me to explain right now" Soldaer sighs, as though burdened by all the memories, and history it brought up. "You know what? I think I have a couple books in here that may be able to shed more light on this than I can" With that, Soldaer stands up, and walks over to the bookshelves, scanning through the various books.
"Ah Ha! Found it!" He pulls a rather hefty-looking tome off one of the shelves. It's a leather-bound book, with ornate gold clasps binding it. It looks ancient, but in surprisingly good condition. "This," Soldaer says putting it on the table, "is Laedaphyn el alfykin, or, in common, History of the Elves. It should have the history of the war between Lloth and the Drow, and the rest of the Elves."
Avery opens the book, looking down on it for a few moments, before speaking, "Yeah, i don't know how to read."
"Hmmmmm...." Soldaer thinks about this for a while. "Well, I know you don't fully trust me, so why don't you take this and have someone neutral to our... relationship, read it to you. That way, you can trust them, and what they say completely."
*FYI, I don't feel like giving you the complete rundown of the drow-elf war, so look it up, are do some RP that someone tells it to you. I'll send you the corresponding lore regarding the Twilight Elves in a PM.*

All stars fade. Some stars forever fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Homebrew (Mostly Outdated):Magic Items,Monsters,Spells,Subclasses ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If there was no light, people wouldn't fear the dark.
To anyone who ventures outside the tavern, a mobile shop has been made. The sign, that appears to have been placed with magic reads: Pock's Outdoor Parlor. Anyone that gets close enough, sees that all mundane (non-magical)items are on sale, for their phb price. And there are also several books that contain information on magical items, that people can buy said item from. These magic items sell for ranging prices, and are by order only.
A small child walks up
Pock four greets them. "Hello there, what can I help you with?"
"Yeah, where are the knives?"
"Knives are right over here." Pock four says, guiding the childlike figure over to them. "We also have magic knives available, there are many different kinds. They are listed in this book of Magic daggers, here. Can I ask what the purpose for the knife is, so i can help you find the one you are looking for?"
"Oh... Uh, guild has been running low on knives, need some new ones. You said magic ones? like just +1 daggers or something cooler?"
"Seeing as how you are probably part of some sort of thieves guild, I would suggest buying in bulk regular daggers, instead of magic ones.. The cheapest magic dagger is around 200GP. All of the magic daggers that we have are available here in the book."
*The book lists all non-homebrew daggers. The legendary and artifact ones have replica written next to their name. They are the daggers listed when you do advanced search weapon type dagger, under magic items.*
"... Sure, so 20000 for a hundred magic daggers right?"
"That is correct." Pock four says, his eyes glazing over briefly.
*Switching to mobile*
"I'll do 17500 for 100. I think that is fair as I am buying in bulk. Also, what's up with your eyes, they glazed over briefly."
"Yeah, but that's the quest, bang. What do you want as a reward?"
Poppy shrugs, "Suprise me?" she says before skipping off to mess with the people
Chase looks at her from across the tavern.
Poppy waves
He waves back. "How are you?"
"I'm doing great"
He nods. "That's good."
"How are you?" Poppy asks, also listening to conversations
"I'm fine. Getting a little bored."
"Weeeellll, you could burn down a house or seventy." Poppy says
"I haven't seen too many houses around here."
"Hm................thats fair"
"I mean, if you find one, I'd happily burn it down for you," Chase jokes.
"Hehehehehe, arson!"
"It can be fun."

*Cool*
"I don't think i should keep the book. Especially since i can't read it."
I can tell you the truth about what happened.
What do you mean?
I've heard this story many times, on many worlds. And I am impartial to events that occur in it.

"You could try. It wouldn't end very well for you."

"That's fine. You can give it back to me whenever you are done with it. I know it may take a while, but I'm rather a rather patient person."

Soldaer laughs lightly. "I know that. Like I said, take it to someone else, and have them read it to you. I would suggest Enethia, but since you don't fully trust me, you most likely won't believe me if I told you she could read it to you impartially." Soldaer sighs a little, "Take it to whoever you feel like you could trust with telling you the truth that's written in this book. Have them read it to you and bring it back to me when you're done."
