a halfling wearing maroon robes with a mysterious pendant walks over to the deadliest looking person in the tavern
*Maybe Xorius? I posted a heroforge in the Discord.*
*fun... *
she walks up to the archdevil
"I-I-need you-your help.A-a-and I a-am no-not giving y-y-you my soul."
Xorius looks almost annoyed. "Just say what you want."
"I-I ne-need to kill a de-demon lord."
though the halfling has a large stutter, they do not at all seem phased by this archdevil.
"Which one?"
"The Scion of Azz the bloody."
"Never heard of them."
"The..they are rece-recent. The-they became de-de-demon lord 30 y-y-years ago."
"What are they the demon lord of?"
"suffering and apocalyptic destruction."
"Are they powerful?"
she silently nods
"Compared to you, or compared to an archdevil?"
Sad being ignored noises
Poppy flying tackles kinsley
Chase stares at both of them.

Soldaer's gaze hardens, and his eyes narrow slightly. "Who are you talking to Avery?"
"Um.......... no one?"
Soldaer has a sad smile on his face at that response. "I know you're communicating telepathically with someone. I just don't know who." To placate any fear, he quickly adds, "This is a precaution I've always had on my room. I know when there's any telepathic communications taking place in my room, although I never know who with." He again smiles sadly, "My world is dangerous, and I've made plenty of enemies who would gladly hire someone to try and assassinate me. I'm sure someone in your profession would understand that kind of precaution."
"Well, they haven't said anything about wanting me to kill you,"
Soldaer does relax at this, but you can see he's still suspicious, or at least curious. "Well, that's good, because I do like you." He nods to the heads mounted above the mantle of his fireplace. "Those are all creatures I either helped kill, or killed myself, so you can tell I am a formidable warrior. I would hate to have to hurt you, which would definitely happen if you had been told to kill me."
Soldaer takes a breath and relaxes a little more after taking another sip of his Feywine. "You still didn't tell me who you are communicating with though. If you aren't here to kill me or cause me harm, and the one you are communicating with hasn't told you to do so, then you should have nothing to hide."
"Is that a threat?" Avery asks, "Or a genuine question." They say, hand twitching lightly in their seat
"A genuine question," Soldaer says, obviously surprised and taken aback. "I already told you that I like you kid. I won't ever intentionally harm you, unless you intentionally harm me or one of my friends."
"You seem nice sir, but i can't exactly trust that statement without full proof." Avery says, standing up as nonchalantly as possable
"You mean something like this?" As he says that, he stands up, unbuckles his sword belt, slides it off, and puts it in the chest at the foot of his bed.
"Yeah, i guess that works."
Soldaer walks back over to his seat, and sits back down, visibly uncomfortable. "I hate being without my weapons, but if it puts you at ease and helps to prove my intentions, then I guess it's worth it."
"Well, thanks for that. What would you want to know?"
"The only thing I wanted to know right now was who you were talking to. After that, I will tell you anything you want to know about myself."
"I don't know their name. But they seem nice"
Soldaer relaxes slightly, although he still seems suspicious. "I'll take that I guess," He says. "Be careful who you trust though. I'm not telling you who to be friends with, but even here, some people have ulterior motives."
Soldaer sits back in his chair again, taking a long sip of his Feywine before refilling it. "Well, as promised tell me what you want to know about me, and I'll tell you, or at least to the best of my ability."
"Who do you serve?" They ask almost immediatly
Soldaer actually smiles immediately at that question. "I serve two goddesses: Eilistraee and Mielikki. Eilistraee is the goddess of my people, and she was the one who led me to the power of the stars and moon. I serve Mielikki in my function as a ranger, protecting my people from the dangers in the woods we call home."
"Hmmmm....... are they evil?" Avery tilts their head with genuine curiosity
"Not at all. Eilistraee protected my people from the vengeance of our evil kin, the Drow. You see, there was, and still is, a great schism between those elves on the surface and the Drow. The goddess the Drow serve is Lloth, the Spider Queen and Mistress of Chaos, and she attempted to usurp the position of Corellon Larethian, the head of the Seldarine, the Elven sub-pantheon. A great war ensued, and the Drow, or al the Drow who followed Lloth, were driven deep into the underdark. My people once considered ourselves the same as the Drow, but when they started believing the teachings of Lloth, we quickly broke away. The true Drow, as they call themselves, attacked us first and foremost at the outbreak of that war." Soldaer grows quiet for a minute, as though contemplating his people's history.
"Mielikki," he continues, "is a good deity, and those who follow her teachings are the first line of defense against the wilds, and against those evil creatures who would cause harm to the innocent."
*Azazel is making something out of glue and popsicle stick soutiside*
Azazel sees a gnome setting up some sort of shop outside the tavern.
He walks over, wondering what this is, "Hello there."
The gnome pops his head up, "Hi," he says excitedly, "The names Pock... well actually its Dankkoorim Turen, but everyone has always called me Pock. I am a crafter of strange and mystical items, I also can easily craft any mundane item much faster than your average smith." Pock rambles, the mechanical feline watching Azazel closely. "OH! I almost forgot, whats your name mister?"
*If avery has any magical items, Pock's shop has alot of different weapons and tools. From bows to greatsword, from backpacks to bags of devouring. Pock has it all.*
*I was thinking of setting up a little shop for people who go on adventures here, but they can't use the items outside the world. E.X. you buy a +3 longsword from pock, it vanishes when you return home, but when you return to the tavern it reappears.*
*Avery doesn't own any magic items*
"My names Azazel," He says, looking around the booth, then at the mechanical feline, "Hi kitty"
"So, see anything you need. I have a ring that can make your wildest dream come true, or a sword that can cut a dragon in two. Or I can make a custom item for you, a lot of people really seem to like scrolls nowadays. So i got several that I can make copies of." Pock says, "Oh and don't mind Kyoko, shes just my guard cat."
"I'm just browsing. I've never needed a magical thing before, so i'm unsure what i'd need now."
"Okay just let us know if you need any help. Remember, we don't just have magic items, we also have regular items and even clothes." Pock says, before another identical gnome leaves the wagon, bowing to pock. "Okay, if you need anything, let Pock know and he will inform me, I have to go and finish some items." The original pock enters the wagon, while this new Pock stays, "Hello," they says, "I am Pock four, Mr. Azazel, if you need any help, please just let us know." This version of Pock, seems to be more conserved then the previous, almost like they are fully prepared to do business as a merchant.
*Yes this is a Pumat Sol reference.*
"Clones. Yeah thats normal."
"Actually, I and the other ninety nine Pocks are simulara of the original Dankkoorim Pock Turen, whom you have met."
"Simulacrums.... cool"
*Just let me know if there are any magical/non-magical items that Azazel is interested in. None of these items are homebrew BTW*
