im Louie, i am 27 and i got into D&D because i was sick and tired of having to buy new video games and system everytime a new one came out, i was complaining about it last year and my buddy invited me to join D&D and now i am a constant player. I mostly play d&D 5e but i also play FAte once in a while. and if Wil wheaton has played it on tabletop i own it and im still waiting for him to catch up on my collection on his show, im sure his game collection makes mine look like nothing.
My current character is Jay Sin Blood (Jason Blood like the demon etrigan). He is a newly turned Vampire, That is a monster hunter fighter class, human. The DM thought it would be funny. But we are plaing Curse of Strahd currently.
My other friends campaign i am The Sheriff, a changling gunslinger who just goes by the Sheriff and likes to walk around pretending to be a kid. He has a pet mechanical human that he created named deputy. And because of their appearance they often get confused for the other.
In my 50's been playing since the 80's started with 1st addition. Decided to stop playing or should I say buying new additions after 4th. I have been a DM more times than I can count, even for conventions here in Michigan, USA. Love creating adventures with weird twists that make players use creative thinking to get out of jams. Nothing like a Kobold suicide bombers with fire oil they have nothing to lose with the lowest hit die, but makes them worth more exp when they can cause a party to think twice about attacking a large group just because they are so weak. What do you with a succubus who had an alignment change and she's looking to find real love with out the draining relationship? You get the idea. I have a son who i'm teaching and playing with, wife not so much but loves the stories I create. Have not gamed lately have lost 2 gaming buddies, they are playing with the big guy now. My favorite charter was a 1/2 orc warrior named Borgosis Defender of the weak, he found a helm of opposite alignment and became Neutral Good. A 20th level Warrior who helps protect the weak, and defend his coin. He is a 1/2 orc and does love his money.
I'm a Norwegian nerd that loves to draw and play tabletop, I live with my partner in a small apartment and we have 4 pet turtles and a Shiba Inu puppy. I was first properly introduced to D&D back in 2008, and I've been playing ever since. My goal is to sample every edition, still haven't played OD&D and 3/3.5 (favorite is 4e, yup I'm one of those folks). I'm also a huge Ninja Turtles fan ( mostly love all iterations, but prefers Mirage Comics and current Nick cartoon), and I'd love to test the TMNT & Other Strangeness Tabletop game from Palladium. I've also played some 13th Age and WoD.
I'm currently played a Human Rogue in a setting where the gods have been sealed off from the plane and their power resides in weaken avatars, while Cthulhu have been awaken from his slumber and Nerull have been resurrected (we're using 4e pantheon). The goal is to collect the remaining powers of the gods to stop both of them in some shape or form. Gotta collect the all! The other game is over skype using RPtools, where I play a more lighthearted game as a Eladrin/High-Elf Swordmage, loads of fun and innuendos as were a bunch of immature doofuses.
As a creative artist, I usually do the art duties of depicting the PCs, villains and sometimes comics and full-on artworks. I've done a comic of our run in 1e Ravenloft (pre campaign setting) converted to the NEXT rules when the playtesting was going on, and I'm currently working on Ravenloft II House on Gryphon Hill comic. In those games I played a Wood Elven Ranger called Farwethrae, and she might be one of my favorite characters I've played, I like her so much I've actually have a BJD doll depicting her.
I also collect action figures, mostly TMNT and MOTUC, I also have a "healthy" chuck of Japanese import figures, Marvel Legends and NECA figures. So I do a bit of Amateur Toy Photography, and I try to dabble a bit into Cosplay.
Cool thread indeed, I generally don't get this far down on the Forum before real life distracts me. Well met to all those that have posted before! Thank you for sharing.
Hello, my name is Rodney, I am a forester with the US Forest Service since '89 with a B.S. in Geology in '94, father of three, and have been the default DM since 1984. I reside in the Sacramento Metro area, a booming area for geeks of all stripes. My two oldest kids are part of three of my four regular games and I am thankful they liked the geeky stuff even if I couldn't get them into sports.
I too come from the era of the "red box", except I distinctly remember it being pink with some cheesy Erol Otus artwork on the front though I had seen the blue box with the Dave Sutherland cover for a couple years prior. Mom had "forbidden" me to play the game as the Satanic "buzz" was just starting to rise, that's until my buddy who moved to El Dorado Hills, CA from Lake Geneva, WI introduced me to this "cool game my friend's dad in Wisconsin was the printer for". Bob had a bunch of weird modules, most of them printing mistakes, I can only imagine what those would go for now in the collectors market, like the original Cthulu/Melnibonean Deities and Demigods that was bound upside down/backwards. Ooops. Anyway, I digress, it was February 1983 and my life changed forever for the experiences Bob introduced me to. Thank you Bob, where ever you are after getting your Ph. D. at Stanford.
For a few years I worked for TSR/WotC for their Online Community and was the section lead for the "Interactive Story Roleplay (ISRP)" filling in after Sean Reynolds joined R&D full time. It was a lot of work and in those days we were paid in store credit so it was a somewhat thankless job. Some fringe benefits were working Gen Con in 2000 & 2001 at the Castle and rubbing elbows with everyone. It was a bit of a mind-blowing experience to go to the TSR/WotC after Gen Con Party on Sunday night and chatting with everyone that was part of the 3.0E release and plenty of folks from the 1E & 2E era. My original 3.0E PHB looks like a year book with all the signatures and artwork from some of the main artists of the time. Around 2002 the wee ones needed Dad more than I needed Wizards Community, so after a year of just doing the Trivia contest, I "retired" WizO/TSRO_Rexx for good.
I had many campaigns through the years, most in my own campaign world of Difonix, but with 3.xE I returned to Oerth and Greyhawk because my own world was a magic poor world and 3.xE made magic shops akin to Starbucks. 3.5 was good to me and my games until 2007 when 4E was announced and Paizo lost their Dragon and Dungeon Magazine licenses. I had been a Dungeon subscriber since issue #2 so that really miffed me. So I stopped playing for a couple of years until Pathfinder was out its Beta and then I ran PFRPG for five years until D&D Next was imminent. I love 5E because it makes the shelves and shelves and shelves of 1E & 2E material I have very playable again. I like that the metagame is stripped down to the basics so the story isn't interrupted by rule clarifications. I particularly love that stat blocks for CR 7 adversaries are paragraph at most, not a full page like they had become in Pathfinder with a dozen Feats to figure out. Oi. It was like my Mineralogy class all over again.
I've been enjoying the Forums here, it's a communication medium I was once a manager for (the ISRP & Greyhawk section) and it's fun to revisit some of the topics that really haven't changed much in 20 years. The adage, the more things change the more they stay the same is true.
Hello, I think I'm the youngest and least experienced here. I'm 11 and a friend introduced d&d to me a couple months ago. I have not played d&d yet but I have an idea as to how it works. I'm from Minnesota and I love reading. My favorite card game is MTG.

Hello Hag! You're not the youngest here, first of all, my little brother is the same age, I'm not much (almost said "mush") older, just finishing 8th grade. I've been playing D&D for about a year now. I'm a gamer (both video games and tabletop games), and a reader. I am hoping for a career in game design. I've earned certifications in multiple adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.). I'm a big fantasy lover, and D&D was one of the best things I have discovered, one of my new favorite hobbies.
I'm a 39 year old woman living in Wyoming with my husband and (soon to be) 9 month old. I started playing D&D as a child, but never really got into it until adulthood. Sadly, I'm not currently in any games, as our group has slowly moved away. Because of this, my husband and I are working on creating our own world to play in, just ourselves, until we can find another group. And I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to learn to play.
I love Star Wars, Doctor Who, and anything Marvel.
Wyoming huh?, I was stationed there way back in the day. Hard to find D&D groups when there are so few people. Well don't let the wind drive you bonkers.

Hi, I'm [name redacted] and I'm an alcoholic - wait, wrong thread.
I'm 5FvK%0Wyh#M*98U5 (name encrypted due to privacy), a teenager who resides in Asia. I play lots of a few video games (mainly DDO, minecraft, and gary's mod), and am DMing with some people here, as well as DMing with my younger cousins. I swim every week at least for 6 hours, and currently a First Class Scout, and I like to write and read. I mess around a lot.
Random facts about me that are practically useless, or rfamtapu
I'm a metalhead. IMO Voivod is the best.
I play violin like an amateur.
Min/maxing is fun.
I have no friends.
The previous one is (a bit) untrue.
I speak German.
I make homebrew because I am bored.
My cousins have a DJ machine thingy.
My favorite pokemon is Snorlax.
My favorite video game creature is Snorlax.
I like Snorlax so much because I am like him.
I am lazy.
The previous two facts are the same.
This fact is false.
I hate the UA artificer class.
Eberron is amazing.
I wanna be a weeaboo but I don't have the otaku levels.
I am 51, and started in 1978 or 79 with the blue box. Played AD&D through high school and college. I dm'ed the original Ravenloft when it came out during high school and thought nothing could ever be better! Switched to second edition when it came out, then third, then 3.5. Took some time off when we moved for work and my son was born.
Now I dm and play with my 15 year old son and a nice group of friends we met through a local gaming store.
I enjoy long campaigns (1-20 or near). When I DM, I have campaigns that weave multiple story lines, try to customize the lines based on character backstory, and usually have clues for most threads worked into adventures. Good note taking is rewarded, but not required.
I will play most anything (in CoS now, so not that picky). I will play the Life cleric if that is what the party needs, but prefer a wizard. I also usually keep the party journal. In Strahd, our journal is a 60+ page Google doc everyone had access to that had maps, pictures, and narrative on all we have done, met, etc.
Finally, I dabble in terrain building. For Strahd, I built Van Richten's tower out of foam core.
Hi, I'm Jen. 28 and live in Utah. Single mother, and huge need of geekdom.
I'm still new to dungeons and dragons, and live writing stories for campaigns, though never really DMed yet.... I hope to learn a lot from here, and to maybe start my first campaign. Also would like to join some campaigns.
Have not posted an official hello yet, but regardless, Hello there!
I am WarfrontJack, or in reality known as John. Working through college and high school at the same time. I hail from the land of America, and I am passionate about DMing, with me running the Stormphrax Rising and Kings of Warchester [soon to be that is] campaigns. I enjoy creating homebrew of all kinds, and I particularly like DMing, haven't actually created a character to play as yet. I have played with 3.5 through my Dad, 4e with some of my friends, and as of lately, I play 5e. I work to often create D&D worlds with futuristic touches, creating homebrew to that end. If you are curious, you can always PM me, or head over to the Play-by-Post section, where you will find me running my aforementioned campaigns. Finally, greetings and salutations, have an excellent Morning/Day/Evening!
Wow, what a nice place to extract personal information from all of you! :)

Greetings All! I am DUNGEON LORD 58. I live in Washington state (if my knowledge serves right, that's really near to the Wizards Of The Coast HQ).
Lore about ME from my top secret arcane library of ME:
I am the publisher of three DMsGuild titles and have maid $24 from selling those. My titles are: Shrine of the Night Serpent, Wrath of Juiblex, and the Avatar of Merrshaulk.
I have been into D&D for a long time but have never actually played it (my brothers aren't interested and neither are any of my friends). I am desperately searching for an adventurers league.
My favorite D&D class is any class that has the pact magic feature.
My favorite D&D race is any race that has the infernal legacy feature.
I do not like tofu, sci-fi, or swear words.
I love horror campaigns (Curse of Strahd is my classic favorite).
I am known as a stalker.
I only got a Twitch account so I can use dndBeyond (I have no other use of Twitch).
Now that you have found my arcane library of secrets, you trigger a spell glyph of Geas cast as a 9th level spell. You are compelled to not tell anyone of what you have learned about DungeonLord58!

I am 20 and a college student in southwest KS. I have a girlfriend of a little over 2 years, she plays too. I am am also quite proud to have gotten one of the colleges instructors to join us. Hasn't played since 1st ed AD&D and has joined us for our summer campaign in 5e. Hopefully, she will continue join us.
I must admit my joy in teaching the game as well as getting new players to dabble in Magic The Gathering. (Typically leads to more than just dabbling, again Hurra!)
I am also, on a more interesting note, working on a book of additional archetypes from various homebrew sites. I take the ones that aren't broken or modify to balance. I will them posted within a few months in the DM pages. Lots of cool stuff, they will be PDFs and look like official pages.
I do this using the homebrewery, I find it handy to type up spells and their info for quick reference, but its great for making any pages for the game I suggest you all check it out.
