I have my own opinions on the situation, but everyone here has already made up their minds.
That is often the case. Still, discussion can be fruitful and informative. If you would rather us stop I wouldn't mind dropping the issue or taking it to pms because it is pretty out of place in a Dungeons and Dragons forum.
I wouldn’t mind taking it to PMs. It’s an interesting discussion. No real need, though.
All I have to say is that bad people and wealthy people will always have an outsized impact on everyone else. Even if you take away their wealth, there are always people who think they’re superior and have the right to put themselves above others. Every nation will have those people. Although I’ll admit it’d be nice to not have laws actively making rich people richer and poor people poorer.
I'm gonna heat up some polish sausage and make potato pancakes using a mix. (I fry them on a griddle.) What are you guys having for dinner?
I’ll be missing dinner due to band things. So I don’t actually know, lol.
Ooooh what do you play? Trumpet or one of the lesser instruments? (And any songs you're practicing that you particularly like? I remember there were a few I really enjoyed. March Slav was nice.)

Unfortunately, probably something frozen and heated up with the stove or microwave.
Frozen meal from the store or something you had leftovers of from before?
Probably a mixture of both. We have some shrimp left over from a night ago and maybe some sort of pasta, but we will most likely have to dig through the freezer and find something. I need to learn how to cook.

What kind of food do you like? I could suggest some simple recipes. (Though I'm not a seafood person, so I'll no tips in that regard.)

March Slav is amazing, and it’s one of my favorite classical music pieces. But no, I’m mostly playing the standard pep band songs. Alma Mater, Star-Spangled Banner, etc.
I play baritone. For people who don’t know what that is (no one ever seems to!), here’s a photo. It’s basically a mini-tuba.

I remember back in 4th grade they didn't have tubas because, you know, 4th graders. So instead there were baritones.
Pep band is fun. (And the only reason I went to basketball games in high shcool.) In addition to the alma/anthem, what kind of songs do you do? My band director had a bunch of band-arrangement pop songs like Radar Love, Hey Baby, Vehicle, etc.

I like almost anything as long as it doesn't include sweet potatoes or too much pumpkins. I really enjoy exotic foreign food. I honestly have no real excuse for not learning how to cook yet other than the fact that I enjoy literature more than cookery. I have plenty of cook books in the house and plenty of friends who know their way around the kitchen.

Yeah, lots of things like that. Tons of random songs I’ve never heard of, plus things like Smoke on the Water, Eye of the Tiger, and Sweet Caroline.

Alrighty. Let's get some simple stuff.
Mashed Potatoes: really easy, make a good side dish. Chop up however many potatoes you want (this is extremely variable for portions) Boil them for ~10-15 minutes, until it's easy to stick a fork into them (start with cold water) Drain, add a little milk, add some butter. Mash them. If you add to much milk that's fine, just keep the heat on and let the liquid boil away.
Garlic bread, really easy side dish too If you buy french bread from the store, cut it in half and put on the garlic sauce (press some garlic, put it in a small pot with some olive oil and butter, melt together and spread on the bread) If you have leftover hotdog/hamburger buns just butter them and put on a little garlic powder 15 minutes at 400F
Fried chicken/pork Cut up chicken breast or pork tenderloin (both can be gotten fairly cheap) and pound them out Dip in eggs (I find 2-3 eggs is sufficient for 2 breasts or tenderloins) Dip in panko bread crumbs Set aside on a plate (it's fine to stack them if needs be) Heat up some canola/vegetable oil in a pan Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side Voila
For breaded chicken, no need to pound it. Can use regular breadcrumbs (and some seasoning in there), 20 minutes at 400F
Grilling is super-easy. Just get a seasoning to put on. Chicken, pork chops, steak, they all go nicely.
Baby Back Ribs, these take a while but it's fairly simple Wash them, put them in a pan in tinfoil and put some water in the pan 275 for 4.5 hours Put BBQ on one side, 250 for 20 Repeat on the other side Delicious
Beef Alfredo/Mac Fry 2 lbs of ground beef Boil 1.5 boxes of rotini/mostacolli Combine and add 2 jars of cheese sauce or alfredo sauce Enjoy
Chicken Alfredo Grill 2 chicken breasts chopped up, no need for seasoning Put in a pot to finish up (375 for 15 is good) with alfredo sauce and cooked peas Eat up, add alfredo noodles (peas go goo with alfredo)
Pork Taco Mix Cook 1.5 cups of rice (steamer, pot, however) Cook 1lb of black beans Fry 2 lbs ground pork Mix together in pan, add taco seasoning (generic from store is A-OK) I like to use Vigo Yellow Rice for better flavor
Sandwich steak Get a package of sandwich steak from the store Cut it up, coat in flour Fry it in a pan (2-3 minutes on each side) Can go further to then put the cooked steak on garlic bread, bbq sauce, and swiss cheese to cook in the oven.
Turns out someone ordered pizza. I can hear them singing "I came in like a wrecking ball!" So I probably have to go. Thanks for those recipes, I'll definitely look through them and save them.
Communism isn’t inherently evil. Just look at Vietnam — it’s socialist and thriving to this day.
Capitalism, on the other hand…
Just pointing out that communism and socialism aren’t the same thing either.
Very true. Under socialism, you can still own private property, but industrial production is controlled by the state. Sorry about that -- I was multitasking when I wrote the post and I didn't realize I'd oversimplified things until later on.
Agreed, Capitalism is inherently evil. Those who say otherwise are capitalists.
No system is inherently evil, the evil creeps in via implementation due to human bias. If capitalism is implemented with an emphasis on upward mobility for people in the lowest income brackets then things would look much, much different than they do in current capitalistic countries where the emphasis is geared towards wealth retention for those in the highest income brackets. Heck, as history has proven time and again, even socialist systems can be (and usually are) corrupted by those in power. Power’s number 1 job is to sustain itself, which almost inevitably leads to corruption. The “inherent” problems lies not within the systems themselves, but with the people who inhabit such systems. It’s a shame really, but people are the ones screwing everything up.
Can't screw up the system if you don't have a system.
well as a Christian I think humans are inherently sinful and that communism would definitely work if we were perfect, but since we aren't it doesn't. that's just my view. but I think most people can see that with communism if people get equal amounts of food and such, some people will slack off and still get the reward, and it makes it harder for the people still working. I mean the pilgrims tried communism and it didn't work
Pilgrims are invaders, I never expected them to do anything good anyway

I don't know why we're talking about religion, all I think is that we should stop in case someone hurts others feelings or worse. I'm weird in religion terms myself, as I believe that there are gods but don't worship them personally. Then again, I believe there are such things as dragons and ghosts, and I am kind of superstitious as well. I don't want to sound like a moderator, but could we cut religious talk on forums please?

Not really, but it's what we have. I can't always eat something fun or good, unfortunately.
