when you get improved minor illusion from picking school of illusion and you already have the minor illusion cantrip (from picking as a spell or as natural illusionist) it doesn’t show the change or credit 1 cantrip spell as it states.
This bug has always existed. I wish someone would fix it already, because it gets reported once or twice a week. Or: "Thank you for reporting. We would rather a bug be over reported than unreported," as a mod would say.
You can work around this bug, by making a homebrewed feat that lets you select a wizard cantrip and manually adding it to the character with "manage feats" on the features and traits page of the character sheet.

Got it. I figured it has been since it seemed liked it’d surface a lot. Will use that work around thanks. Hope they fix it at some point.
I know that. But if you swap out the one from the Wiz subclass you’ll lose the bonus on the character sheet. If you swap out the one from the race then you’ll keep that bonus rider on your character sheet. The rider is supposed to apply to the spell even if you swap out the Wiz version according to RAW, but DDB’s system can’t properly model that. To better, more accurately reflect RAW on the character sheet, you would have to swap out the version from the race instead.
Yeah I be in favour of Sposta's resolution. Just easier.
At the end of the day, as long it reflects well on the character sheet it's fine. Just a means to an end.

I hear what you're saying, but that precludes taking Minor Illusion at level 1. Granted, that is usually a session at most, but still. Live by RAW, die by RAW.
Yeah... I definitely misread their development direction... I don't have a guess at time ATM. I can tell they have been working on back end in preparation for a character sheet update, but I expect that will be general features and maybe temporary effects, probably not this. Fingers crossed tho.

Thanks, this did it for me! It's frustrating, but I've had to make homebrew feats in the past to get around bugs. So it's familiar at least.
Still unfixed in 2021?
They are working on it. Should get fixed early this year.
and yet, here we are.
Full of rice, beans, and bad ideas.
You could make a homebrew version.

I would instead make a homebrew of the Forest Gnome since the Wizard Subclass includes a bonus to the cantrip.

There's nothing in the Forest Gnome text that says it can be swapped out:

TBF, there is still a snippet on the FEATURES & TRAITS tab about it. It just doesn't show up as the last sentence on the spell's description page.
Plus, that method only works if you take a Forest Gnome.

If you don’t take forest gnome, there’s no reason to swap the spell.

EDIT AND MULTICLASSING?

And I don't have a problem replacing things for games that allow it:

Well that was a lie.
Which of my comments was this referring to? The bad guess from a year ago or the new comment from a week ago where I acknowledge the bad guess?
In any case, I wasn't lying. I was just wrong.
