For the beta, only the rules and options provided in the D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion are available in Beyond. Once the full platform launches later this summer, the core rule books and others will be available for purchase, and the content within will be available for those that purchase, or have access through a DM's subscription.
Only the free content (which is the SRD and Basic Rules) are currently offered. As mentioned by Badeye today, pricing and a release date has been provided. When the launch occurs, you'll be able to purchase the entire PHB OR a Wizard pack OR access through someone's master tier sub (as long as they have the content).
Yeah, I'm playing a divination wizard in 5e, all the basic rules. If this character builder only supports the school of evocation, it's pretty much useless to me.

You're talking about the Players Handbook, which is not the basic rules. The basic rules are a set of free rules provided by Wizards. The PHB is paid for content. If you want to see the basic rules, Sorce provided links above.
Let's also not forget that this is only the beta. The full release with all the content will be August 15.
The Basic Rules and SRD are the free content from Wizards of the Coast - Basic Rules is different from the Core rules which includes the Player's Handbook. You can click on the hyperlinks here to read about them and check what content is available. The only wizard archetype available for free is the Evocation Wizard.
The thing is, it's past August 15th. The beta is live and I still can't make a forest gnome abjuration wizard. That's my whole thing.
The answers in this thread still apply. The good news is that you can get forest gnomes and the School of Abjuration unlocked in the character creator here for $1.99 each and have the price of the Player's Handbook reduced by the amount spent if you decide to purchase it later on.

Wait... So I have to pay ONCE AGAIN FOR THE SAME BOOK!?!? I ALREADY GAVE YOU $50!
No you didn't. D&D Beyond is not owned by Wizards of the Coast. They're owned by a separate company who is selling you a product in a digital format you can use with their tool set. Think of them as a digital retailer similar to a local game store which also provides a service.

Having the same issue. Is there a link to what I may need to purchase? Currently have a subscription to the site what else will I need to have access to the full PHB.
Never mind I figured it out. So in order to choose PHB classes and such it must be purchased through this site. I assume if I already own the book there isn’t a redeemable code or anything?
Same issue here, though playing with someone who has the phb and master tier subscription, and the other wizard in our campaign had 0 issues selecting war magic as a school

Your character must be in the campaign where the content is being shared for you to be able to use the content.
The drop down for picking the wizard's arcane tradition is only showing evocation.

Uh, are the other schools of magic not included in the core SRD? Cause I'm pretty sure those are in there. LET ME SPECIALIZE IN DIVINATION, CURSE YOU.
Never said that in the SRD there are no schools of magic. I said in the SRD for the wizard there is only 1 school available as option.
As filcat mention - the D&D 5th edition SRD and D&D 5th edition Basic Rules only have one Wizard tradition. The links are there for you to check this.
