I want to show my DM the character I just created before we meet for a session so that he can make sure it fits with the campaign and so I can change anything I need to. But without being able to export I can't send him a file, and when I try to send him the link to my character he gets a 404, presumably because the link I have is tied to my account, which he is not logged into. Is there a share link that I am missing, or is there some way to share characters? Or do we just have to wait until exporting is implemented?
Right now, the only way to share a character is that your DM create a campaign and share the campaign link with you. In that campaign you can load your character and the DM can view and modify it, if need be.
E-Mail PDF to DM or upload somewhere like Google Drive and give share link.
Solved.
Or, have the DM create a free D&D Beyond account and share your link with him.

If your DM has an account here, you just add the character to their campaign. If not, you can export to pdf and send them the pdf, or send them a share link (although they may need a free account here to see the link). Things have changed a lot since the OP 3 years ago
First you go to the character sheet and copy the share link. Then you could send it to other DDB users by pasting it into a DDB PM, or to anyone using any other social media PM, or by pasting it into a regular email, or a txt message, pasting it into a Google doc and sharing that with someone, or even by pasting it into a word document, printing it out, sticking it in an envelope and Mailing it to someone.

We just have to wait, I'm afraid.

This is a planned feature, that will most likely be added in after release.

Is this feature available yet?

Sharing the link won't allow a different account to see the character sheet.
To share a sheet, you create a campaign, allow the players to join, then you assign your characters to the players.
How are you meant to do this?

How do we send a share link? I dont see that kind of function on the site.

I need help with this too, my friend doesn't have an account and I don't know his email (online friend).
I made a short tutorial video: https://youtu.be/1Z1f6vK1AYE
Click on your character's name, then click on Sharable Link in the sidebar, then click to copy it.
