There are so many unofficial classes that have been long-tested and make for amazing gameplay, yet we still don't have the ability to make them. Between this and the lack of utility for several of the artificer subclasses it seems a lot of these features are waylaid by a long, long time.
Hey, admins of D&D beyond, I would really like the ability to create a homebrew class, could we please have this feature sometime soon, it's been about 2 years since the first post, maybe even longer.
Unfortunately there are other posts that are even older. I doubt this is a priority for them right now, which is a shame. :/ I want to use the FFXIV x D&D homebrew privately with a group of friends (we use Beyond20 to make it easier), but I'm gonna have to just make a doc and have them do Google Sheets character sheets. Not horribly punishing, but not ideal.

I've just come across a handful of very engaging third party classes, made by members of the community and tested/vetted pretty thoroughly. They're for sale online, exist out in the general melèe of D&D resources and I'd love to be able to offer them as options for players in my campaigns.
Giving people additional ways to express themselves with their classes and maybe even doing a little tweak here and there for players in my campaigns would be amazing.
Currently, I can make a subclass which is quite cool, but whole classes like the pugilist, gunslinger, warden, odic, shaman, alchemist and more would be an amazing way to reward my players for getting creative and valuing the flavour of their characters.
If it wasn't clear enough from the others here, I'm chucking a vote towards getting custom classes in D&Dbeyond. It's become our universal campaign tool for classes and I've sunk a fair amount of money at the service for source books and rules packages. Right now it's the best tool for the job but I'm hitting the edge of maybe switching to something else, but the addition of full custom classes would make it undisputed.
In the top bar, go to Creations and it should be there. You can create a class, race, spells, items, etc. all from that menu. Currently though you can't create Classes just sub-classes though this is something that I think is planned as part of the homebrew revamp but that is a little ways down the road.
I know, right? This is an old post and a thing i figured we'd have year one, or soon after. I am truly amazed it has yet to be covered. It seems like everything else has been done.
It's been a while, do you know if it's still a priority for the longterm road map?
yeah an idea of the plan would be great.
there's so many really excellent classes being published by well-known 5E creators, filling gaps in the 5E canon so that people can express themselves in new and balanced ways. I'd love to be able to work those classes into my campaign.
if custom classes aren't an option (for instance, it'll be hard to predict how a new class might work, and getting the character sheets to display abilities and roll dice correctly might be too complex) then I propose a different solution!
team up with the most respected or popular content developers for 5E, and bring them into the fold. Maybe get the community to vote on which classes to include, and bring them into the client at a rate of one per month. call them 'community favourites' or something.
For a weekend DnD session I wanted to create my Homebrewclass and the corresponding Spells in Dnd Beyond. Unfortunately I'm too stupid for that, is there any idiot-proof manual how to do it? Didn't find anything in my (admittedly short) research.
Thank you for your information.
kind regards MisterM1291
I've found D&DBeyond to be 'beyond' frustrating. Every time I've tried to add custom content to build out my home brew 'campaign', 'world', etc... I just end up throwing my hands in the air and giving up because I can never do what I want to do.

I would like this feature.
Yo, D&D Beyond. Can we please have the ability to homebrew classes? Tks.

Still not possible?
Being able to create a whole class sure would be fun. >.>

Fingers crossed it comes soon 😁🤞

Not helpful my friend 😂. Everyone's aware of the menu. The lack of a full custom class is the discussion point here
Don’t expect it before 2024. And then be prepared for disappointment when it gets delayed.

Bump. Would also like to see homebrew classes. Was very surprised to find this wasn't already built.

two suggested content developers to tap early:
- Ross Leiser
- Heavyarms
