Really hoping for Rune Knight probably the best designed fighter class thus far.
i mean it was quite a while back it released, and it had a few quirks, if it would be going further we should probably have seen an second iteration of the class by now

I'm so happy or at less if what I heard about this book is gonna be true. I mean Kobold being fixed, Beast Master getting new pet's and the Twilight Domain and Sha'ir Warlock + I know another player ad my table may wanna try speaking with the Dungeon master about switching from Eldrich Knight to Rune Knight.
I do also look forward to CFV being implement, hopefully DDB is ready for the book.
Question: Is the new UA feat also coming with this book?
I'm really excited for updated sidekick rules, as the current set really doesn't work on DNDB. I'm really hoping this will be the push to finally get it working. If you can only muster a small group or are playing in a family (like me and my daughter ) then it is critical. Can't play without it really.

one of the texts mentions new feats being part of this new sourcebook, so presumably?

which version do you use currently, the UA one or the one in the essentials kit?
also i really am hoping they are a bit stronger than those from the essentials kit and that we also get some abillity to recruit monsters as sidekicks and the abillity to change the abillity scores of the sidekick, even if the monster recruiting is limited to altering the sidekick's size and creature type and then adding one or two traits that the monster had

Its a bit harsh dont you think?, how would ypu discribe it otherwise?
No, I don’t think it’s harsh at all. Using Spells and Spellcasting to represent Psionics is the laziest pice of doodoo game design I have ever seen and I will not allow it in campaigns I DM, and I will not play in campaigns using it.
If you wanna know how I would do it read these threads:
If WotC uses Spellcasting to represent Psionics then I will ban it at my table
You must be really fun at parties.
I am in fact.
Well you likely think, therefore you likely are....
However shouldn't you at least read it before you ban it? Your assumptions may be completely correct and you thus end up banning it anyway, but simply declaring it bad without even reading it?
Also, exactly what new and different mechanic are you expecting?
You will note that I wrote “If WotC uses Spellcasting to represent Psionics then I will ban it at my table”
As to a different mechanic I went into it in these threads already and am not doing it again here:
Wait is the GENIE subclass confirmed? Are there any other confirmed classes?
The Genie subclass was indeed confirmed, via Mia Burton through Twitter, I believe.
The Psionic Soul Sorcerer was also confirmed, as a character art from "Tasha's Cauldron" featuring a Tiefling Psionic Soul was included with an article listing the various features.
By proxy, this would imply that the other psionic subclasses (the Psi Knight & the Soulknife), will also be included...though, whether or not WoTC implements the "psionic dice" mechanic remains to be seen...at best, the reception to the mechanic was mixed.
I personally LOVED the re-vamped flavor of the Psionic Soul Sorcerer...and I LOVED the Aberrant Mind...but the Psionic Soul allowed the character to be an eldritch horror, OR a typical adventurer who just had access to psionic power through alternative means.
The psionic dice mechanic felt clunky for a sorcerer, however...having to juggle spell slots, sorcery points, metamagics and the psionic dice "reverse" mechanic...felt like too much tedium for little benefit.

Which was exactly why my vote was to keep the Psi Die and ditch Spellcasting as Psionics altogether.
I guess what I was getting at is that 'spellcastng' can mean a lot of things. I agree that spell slots do not make a lot of sense, but the basic mechanic of 'Save vs DC based on relevant ability' is pretty fundamental and universally applicable. And if they went with the next most common alternative to spell slots, namely some sort of points system it would not be that far from spell slots. A bit more versatile but still...
Psionics Powers =/= Spells
If there’s no Spells, then there is no need for slots or points.

What about if it the Sorcerer subclass is the Abberant Mind? Not explicitly psionic, but with heavy implications. Will you still ban it?
