Gizmodo has an article that dives pretty deep into some of the newly-released details.
According to this, the Psionic Sorcerer class is the Psionic Soul, not the Aberrant Mind. At least, that's what the caption of the picture for the Human Artillerist Artificer and the Tiefling Sorcerer indicates.
I should also point out, based on the way Crawford worded his statements quoted in the article, that Tasha's Cauldron will NOT be considered a Core book. He gives their definition of the Core books as the absolute minimum required to play the game. For the player side, that's the PHB, and that's kinda it. So AL games will probably still be PHB +1. That does, however, explain the prolific reprints in the book. WotC is clearly expecting Tasha's Cauldron to be the extra book.
That sucks too because PHB+1 is probably the most restrictive and unfun thing about Adventurers League.
If a 'Lurker in the Deep' is published that has nothing to do with the UA mechanics, does it really count? The Fey Wanderer completely invalidates the poor Horizon Walker except with crappier lore and overdone pseudo-Smites instead of cool, thematically satisfying planar warrior powers. And the Undead warlock is basically Wizards admitting that they botched the Undying warlock and are hoping to patch it but they're not allowing themselves to say that out loud because shareholders.
I don't think we'll see the Undead lock or Spirits bard, seems too close to the deadline. But maybe. Who knows.

It's a weird rule for 5E, too. It would have made sense in 3rd edition when there were about a million and a half splatbooks, but given that 5E only has about ten books with player character content it's overkill.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
My only concern is the amount of re-engineering or parallel engineering DDB may have to do with character generation, where one is currently able to pick "elf" and the mods and proficiencies and traits get plopped into the character automatically vs. this new method where it's implied a choice of race or species is a lot more flexible or the traits one would pick up through race selection are no longer bound to the choice. Coupled with the fact that these will be considered optional character generation methods, I sense a coding headache in the DDB crew starting to foment.
So while I'm curious and interested in the book, I got a feeling we may have to be patient for DDB to rollout complete integration of the content into DDB.
Related question, there was some back and forth in the thread about whether everything to be seen in the subclasses would be stuff we've seen as UA or not. The consensus seems to be "they wouldn't dare". That leads me to ask, is the alternative system to incorporate what used to be race/species bound traits something that's been play tested as UA or elsewhere within the D&D community? Content produced by survey is fine, but I myself wouldn't mind seeing a surprise (though I'm not insisting on it). Same for spells.
I know Im bias (as I love me some plague doctors) and I feel like its very off topic compared to what most on here are commenting, but Im hoping for the Way of Mercy Monk more than anything else. Im also very keen to see if the Twilight Domain Cleric made the cut.

So I've read two articles (Nerdarchy and Gizmodo) saying we're getting the Aberrant Mind sorcerer subclass, but the offical twitter vid announcements and captioned book art says Psionic Soul subclass (the links for these are in previous pages by the way). So I guess Im confused (and maybe moreso hopeful), are getting Psionic Soul or Aberrant Mind or both?
I truly hope for Aberrant Mind. I know it cuts the grass of both GOO and Draconic to an extent but as a HUGE Lovecraft fan (and player in a campaign where Ghaunadaur has been revealed as the BBEG, fearing Hjalmar will die any session and needing a new PC...), it just got me fan boying so hard.

I hope we get more new Artificer subclasses than just Armorer. Every other class has half a dozen if not more subclasses, Artificer deserves at least two new ones.

I get the impression that it will be a hybrid of the OG Aberrant Mind and something else.

Hoping Circle of the Stars Druid made it in!
The problem is, this new undead warlock is far too powerful instead of too weak.

Hopefully. Or we are going to see a lot of 8d10 Eldritch Blasts being chucked around.

The Undead Warlock is too powerful (and probably won't be in this book), but fixing it is fairly simple.

Everything has only ever said one new Artificer subclass, the Armorer. I too want more subclasses, but I don't think we're getting them for awhile.
