As the merchant lies suffering from his wounds, Screechirk attends to him. He manages to put him in a stable condition whilst dealing with the situation.
Leif doesn't see anyone lurking in the shadows, but he is the first to see people approaching the scene. They are led by a man with neatly trimmed facial hair, wearing a red vest.
"Greetings," the man says as he draws closer, whilst the rest of the people move to help the merchant and his victim. "I am Captain Adann, and that man lying there is Arel Avim, son of King of Coin Messer Solenn."
However, before anyone else can say anything soldiers wearing gold filigreed armour. They approach Captain Adann, taking him into custody along with Arel Avim and the merchant.

"Officers, why are you detaining that man?" Shadow points to Captain Adann. "He arrived long after we were attacked, and was certainly not involved - Isn't that right?" Shadow looks to his other party members, hoping one of them is more persuasive

"Part of the plot against the Kings of Coin, most likely...We should inform our employer." Shadow goes over the surroundings with a practiced forensic eye, and carefully collects any evidence left by the soldiers, especially anything indicating the Bloodletter's involvement.
Gold filigreed armor, just like Samira's men. "Indeed," adds Screechirk to Shadow's words, "we're currently in the employ of your Mistress Samira." He thinks to himself, but if her men were here so quickly, she may know more about the current happenings than she let on.
One of the soldiers turns around to face the group, "This man is the leader of the anti-aristocrat group known as the Bloodletters."
"But I have been telling you Silent Verse, that this is not the doing of the Bloodletters," Captain Adann snaps. "Besides, why would we attack Arel of all the aristocrats?"
"You see, he admits it. He is a part of the Bloodletters. King of Coins, Madam Arah, will be very happy to see that we have detained him before any more of the aristocrats are attacked. This should be the end of it."

"According to Shadow," gestures Screechirk to the ranger, "the merchant was drugged before launching his violent assault. And as stated before, we are in the employ Madam Arah. It would be for the best we be able to gather more information."
"Then you best search for whatever information you want," the soldier replies. "In the meantime, as far as I am concerned we have the perpetrator in custody."

[[ So what do you guys want to do? Ask Adann more questions? Keep looking through the market? Ask Samira about the Bloodletters? I'm undecided myself. ]]
Screechirk will pick up the vial Shadow found earlier to observe if there's any labels or markings on it. He's attempting to ascertain what it was and possibly who made it or sold it.

"Is this a commonly sold item?" asks Screechirk. He raises his eyebrows. "Or are there any particularly known makers of it?" He pauses, "For that matter how is it applied? I doubt our merchant here knowingly ingested it, right?"
Screechirk becomes indignant, "Well if you think I'm asking too many questions, then let me ask you another." He causes his voice to boom and tremors to rumble the ground (thaumaturgy), "What will your mistress think when she hears you were impeding the investigation of her representatives?" He gestures for someone to pull out the rose-shaped token Samira gave the part.
"I'm staring to dislike this city." mutters Screechirk, "Definitely want to speak with that merchant when he wakes up." He turns to Leif and Shadow, "Head on to Thornapple?"
“Yes onward to our reward and hopefully more answers instead of more questions.” Leif tips his hat and out hops a sparrow, Leif looks at the bird, “Find a place to keep watch little one. I’ll bring you back a juicy worm.” He then flicks his hand and produces a juicy worm ( minor illusion) and appears to place it in his pocket.
