Hello, I've been playing dnd and using this website for a while and this summer i took my first jump into homebrewing a subclass for a cleric player of mine, my problem is that i have not bought any of the source books on the site because i have the ones we use fisically (bought second hand so i dont have codes if the came with) and my players are fairly new so we don't need much more than what the character creator already offers, so there are certain things i cant access like the potent spellcasting class feat for clerics and therefore have taken it upon myself to try and recreate it myself because i could see the description and snippet in the "How to Homebrew in D&D Beyond - Phoenix Domain Cleric - Builds Character" video on youtube, but there is a modifier tied to that feat that isnt shown and i cant figure out how to add. So the question i have is if some good samaritan out there could send me a picture or write down some basic instructions on how to add just the modifier part, if its not posible or somehow against the rules i understand and will tell my players to add said modifier themselves, but if it is possible i would apreciate it alot.
Yes but diferent Cleric subclasses at level 8 can get either "Potent Spellcasting" (adds your WIS modifier to your cantrip damage) or "Divine Strike" (you can add 1d8 radiant damage to weapon attacks), and the only subclass available for the free site is "Life Domain" wich has Divine strike. So I'm asking to try and recreate Potent Spellcasting because the subclass I'm making is more support base so it wouldn't really work great with Divine strike.
PS- I know and thanks, i just tried to abreviate it but forgot they are two diferent things in game
If you purchase any Cleric subclass that has access to Potent Spellcasting -- say Light Domain -- then you can use that as a template for creating your subclass, and so long as you don't try messing with the subclass feature Potent Spellcasting, it'll add the spellcasting modifier as expected.
You can buy that single subclass via Individual Purchase Options in the marketplace page for the Player's Handbook.

Spellcasting is a base class feature, not a subclass feature. All Clerics automatically get to use it.
PS- “Features” ≠ “Feats”

Helpful rewriter of Japanese->English translation and delver into software codebases (she/e/they)
