"I mean, the goat is made of pure magic, so the displacer beasts didn't really eat anything, the goat just disappeared soon after they tried to eat it..." Velmine takes this short time after the fight to try to search a logical reason as to why her attack did the opposite of what it was supposed to a few seconds ago, believing it to have to have been magic related.
Arcana7 (Edit: Ok, I don't think I have to ask the DM for that, she knows that it might be something magic related, or it might not.)
While doing so, she notices Xavier's attempt at investigating the scene and comments on it. "I can help you, just give me a second to think about this problem..."
Velmine doesn't really know what happened to her rapier but It seems to still be sharp. (Eiren might have some insight if you bring it to the group.) Then she goes and [Tooltip Not Found]s Xavier's search the piles of bones. Xavier made a second roll for advantage.
“I think we should stay out of the trees of these forests,” Eiren said. “I haven’t been able to prove it, but I think there is some kind of magical effect happening whenever you enter trees. The map said something about forest of illusions, remember? And monsters would just disappear for some of you. And this is what, the forest of recovery? And your attacks didn’t do the damage you expected. In fact, here. One of you come into the trees and punch me as hard as you can.” Eiren leads whoever is willing into the nearest group of trees. “Okay, you stand here. I’ll stand here. Go ahead, hit me.” Eiren presents his face as a target.
”After this we drink from that pool over there,” he says, grimacing.
(I'd still like to receive feedback on what my investigation roll would give me, but for now...)
Velmine is eager to follow Eiren and do his plan to test his teory, one because she's the curious type who would like to know if that really works, two because she'd also be happy punching someone just for the sake of it.
(I imagine that's an auto-hit because he's not trying to avoid it, and 3 bludgeoning "damage" because that's the fixed damage for Velmine's unarmed strike.)

Velmine also searches the piles of bones and finds the remains of a body (mostly skeletal) covered in bits of red clothing. She notices a vial of liquid continuously expands from a tiny bead to color the clear liquid around it and then contracts, half covered in mud by the body. (This takes 5 minutes.)
While Xavier and Velmine are searching the bone piles Eiren retrieves his thrown dagger.
Then Velmine volunteers to help Eiren with his experiment. Velmine make another Wisdom save DC 15, if you fail roll a 1d10.

“Ah ha!” Eiren says, vindicated. “It didn’t hurt at all—in fact, it felt soothing. Like a salve or balm. Like I suspected, these trees are mischievous. I suggest we stay away from them until we are more clear on how they would affect us.”
(Here’s a Wisdom Save in case I need one too: 6. If it’s a charming effect I have advantage on the throw)
Eiren will then go to take a drink from the restorative water that Qu’oth had drunk from minutes earlier.
