Starting at level 5, Druids can cast Conjure Animals to summon beasts to fight alongside the party. The Circle of the Shepard subclass gives bonuses to this type of play.
I have not played one, but I've heard others say that the class tends to noticeably slow down the game, so I would not recommend it if you are the type that needs to think a bit before deciding what to do.
For example, using animal friendship?
How manu simultaneous animal companions would It be possible to have?
Could this increase with passing of the levels?
Animal Friendship doesn’t work like that. Rangers get animal companions. They are like half Druid/half fighters.
