Basically I'm considering give every primary caster a free, predetermined, cantrip at the first level of the class. Does anyone think it would unbalance the classes to do so? The list of classes and given spells that im thinking about is listed below. Let me know what you guys think.
Cleric: Thaumatugy Druid: Druidcraft Wizard: Prestidigitation Bard: Minor Illusion Warlock: Eldritch Blast Sorcerer: Mage Hand
It's not going to break the game, but the game doesn't already do this for a reason. The idea is that something like Prestidigitation becomes more valuable to you when you gave up, say Toll the Dead in order to have it. When you give up the chance for A so you can take B, it gives your choice meaning, which says something about your character.
This just dilutes that a bit. It's also kind of a bummer for druid considering how bad druidcraft is compared to the others there. I think it might be more fair to offer each spellcaster their choice of a free non-damaging cantrip from their class.

My homebrew subclasses (full list here)
(Artificer) Swordmage | Glasswright | (Barbarian) Path of the Savage Embrace
(Bard) College of Dance | (Fighter) Warlord | Cannoneer
(Monk) Way of the Elements | (Ranger) Blade Dancer
(Rogue) DaggerMaster | Inquisitor | (Sorcerer) Riftwalker | Spellfist
(Warlock) The Swarm
IMO, that one should have been RAW, and should not appear on their spell list so nobody else can smag it with a feat.
