A chain wraps around the wrist of whoever is handling boarding. A sleepy looking otterfolk in a witch hat and a fancy robe is holding the other end and tosses a pearl necklace worth at least three platinum is tossed around the man who handles boardings neck as the chain lets go
"That should cover it" the ottterfolk says

The man in question is a sever-foot tall creature composed entirely of jagged coral. It murmurs its thanks quietly, and pockets the coins.
"hmmm it worked fine for my ship. and its had some very good moments getting away from those who wanted to catch me. but if you reject it that's fine. I can pay the toll too."
Alistair shrugs. “Don’t think it’d work on the Barnacle, in all honesty. We’re ‘sposta be accessible, y’know? Tell you what — I’ll speak to the Captain on this, and perhaps you could make the modification on his personal ship, Silver Ghost. In the meantime, we’ll let you onboard, no bribe needed. Sound good?”
The otterfolk nodds and goes inside, a suitcase floating behind him
*interior desc*
The interior of the Barnacle is a splendid affair. The entire room is made of solid oak timber, and dozens of lanterns sequentially placed on the walls fill the ship with warm light. People — pirates, but also many perfectly ordinary people — fill the room’s tables, eating and drinking heartily. A woman with the lower body of a scorpion scuttles back and forth behind the bar, using her many appendages to make and serve drinks with uncanny speed.
Two ornate rugs dominate the center of the room. Both are curiously free of spills — a feat the rest of the ship has hopelessly failed to accomplish. Situated between the rugs is an ornate chest flowing with gold. As you watch, one drunken dwarf reaches for a coin and leaps back as the chest bites at him. The dwarf scurries away, and the satisfied mimic watches him go.
Towards the prow of the ship is a brass door bearing a sign that reads “Captain’s Quarters, Do Not Enter.” Next to it, a smaller wooden door reads “Belowdecks.” The second door is ajar, and it reveals a descending wooden staircase.
A sour looking man wanders onto the decks, wearing an outfit with a resemblance to a captain. His hair is pure white, and he might be bald but you can't tell because of his hat. A harpoon is strung along his back, which shakes in its bag as he walks to whoever he needs to bribe. "Ay, this cash do you good?" He hands the person some gold pieces.
*Probably gonna need to change what Normiah hunts too, in the Zephyr he hunted a dragon which made sense in the sky but this is the sea, do dragons exist at sea levels? Idk*
