Alistair pauses, then cocks his head as though he’s listening to something. “Yup, he’s good with that. Enjoy your stay, my ambitious friend.” He grabs a handful of the coins and stashes them in his pocket before lifting the chest and taking it inside.

The pale man claps his hands as several minotaur skeletons begin bringing crates aboard.
The interior of the Barnacle is a splendid affair. The entire room is made of solid oak timber, and dozens of lanterns sequentially placed on the walls fill the ship with warm light. People — pirates, but also many perfectly ordinary people — fill the room’s tables, eating and drinking heartily. A woman with the lower body of a scorpion scuttles back and forth behind the bar, using her many appendages to make and serve drinks with uncanny speed.
Two ornate rugs dominate the center of the room. Both are curiously free of spills — a feat the rest of the ship has hopelessly failed to accomplish. Situated between the rugs is an ornate chest flowing with gold. As you watch, one drunken dwarf reaches for a coin and leaps back as the chest bites at him. The dwarf scurries away, and the satisfied mimic watches him go.
Towards the prow of the ship is a brass door bearing a sign that reads “Captain’s Quarters, Do Not Enter.” Next to it, a smaller wooden door reads “Belowdecks.” The second door is ajar, and it reveals a descending wooden staircase.
*Just wanted to get an interior description out. No need to interact with it yet, unless you have time.*
*question… what kinds of monsters and stuff exist in this setting? You mentioned aboleth I think but I just wanted to make sure because my character idea is very tied to a specific monster*
A kindly looking old man with a high pitched new Zealand accent enters (if you've never heard a new zealand accent, you arent truly living. Go find a video on yt or something). He has slouched shoulders and holds a cane. Jack Oliver, privateer extraordinaire.
A man wearing flamboyant robes greets him cheerfully. “Ayy! You must be new here, sir. Not a lot of old folks in these parts. What do you call yourself?”
(If you don't know how a new zealand accent sounds just imagine the kindest sounding accent ever) "Ah, yes, I pride myself in my work, and I'm going to keep going until the day I die. I'm Jack. Jack Oliver."
The first mate smiles warmly and offers his hand. “We can use an attitude like that here. The name is Alister Tao. I’m the Captain’s first mate, and I also crew his ship the Silver Ghost in his absence. Care for a drink?”
"An absolute pleasure, Alister. I could go for... do you have any fine aged wines in your cellar?"

Humans and all their variations
Koralline — coralfolk. Basically big ogre-sized sentient golems made of coral. Directed by a massive hivemind, although they are entirely sentient and self-aware.
Woodfolk — related to Koralline; big plant-like humanoids.
Darghoul — undead that have remained somewhat sane. Intelligent, but inherently evil in nearly all cases. Compose most of the Empire.
Dregs — mindless zombies. Low-quality darghoul.
Tlincallis — scorpionfolk found in Africa and Terra Australis.
Minotaurs — native to the island of Achutoryn in the east. Rare, but not unheard of.
Dragonfolk, Lizardfolk, and Yuan-ti have been found in Terra Australis.
Tieflings and Aasimar are rare but not unheard of.
Aarakocra, Taurans (centaurs, etc.), Tortles, and Thri-Kreen all exist in rare locales. Tritons and Locathah exist in small numbers in Atlantis and Vineta (underwater cities)
Gnomes and Dwarves are rare but not unheard of.
Elves don’t exist cause elves are overrated!! >:(
*Monsters:*
Any and all Abberations, Plants, Oozes, and Undead.
Dragons exist, but they’re more like godly figures than anything worthy of worship
Aboleths, Oblexes, Krakens, and Dragon Turtles are commonly found in the deep sea. They are known by specific names and are often the subject of sailers’ tall tales
Dinosaurs exist and gnomes ride them
Fey exist and are common in deep wilderness. Demons and Devils exist, but they’re indistinguishable lore-wise.
*Pretty much anything goes, as long as it fits with the vibe of the setting.*
