@Gib Gib, with the homebrew portion, what's going on there now?
Ok, so for some backstory cause I know you aren't on RP threads, I have two gods that are major characters in the story: Cogintius, the god of knowledge, order, arcana, life and peace, who helps humanity. Then there's Faltros, god (technically demon) of fear, war, fire, the underworld of the wicked and treachery. He tries to help a cult overthrow the gods, but gets defeated. In the thread he came from (the Universe Smorgasbord), he's spared and leaves to form the underworld, then gets killed in an epic final battle. But in this campaign for plot reasons, Cogintius chains him up for eternity using the Spear he wields. Except, fast forward to present day and his spear has been shattered in a battle, and now the party has to pick up the pieces to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. (If all pieces are assembled by someone working for Faltros instead, it can be used to free him and with both his power and the spear's humanity is basically done for.)
As of now, they're looking for the second piece (found the first in Wave Echo Cave in Phandelver), and are doing so in the kingdom of a necromancer called the Iron Skull. They're trying to take out him and his council, and are currently in the Underdark because one of the council members is a mind flayer living without a colony.
Idk how good it is because this is my first time DMing a homebrew campaign, but we've been having fun with it!
