I'm making a hexblade warlock but something seems to be wrong on my character sheet. I have a longsword equipped and my sheet shows 1d8-1 for damage. This makes sense because my strength modifier is -1. But the hexblade warlock has proficiency with martial weapons which a longsword is. My proficiency bonus is +2. so shouldn't the damage be 1d8-1+2 >> 1d8+1?
The proficiency bonus is never added to the damage rolls, only to the attack rolls.
Also, as a hexblade, you could make your longsword a hex weapon (by clicking Customise and selecting Hex Weapon) to use your Charisma bonus instead of Strength for attack and damage rolls (which still won't add your proficiency to your damage as it shouldn't.)

You do not add proficiency bonus to damage. Only the relevant stat modifier. If this is your pact weapon make sure to click on the weapon and then mark it as a pact weapon on the pop out window.
Second, for those of us that are playing in Ravnica, . . ranks or levels of renown.
This might be easier to not limit it to Ravnica characters, because you only get the 1 faction or guild anyway, right? Make a list of all official and then offer a custom value (or show custom values from campaign the character is in) for home games.
Not only not limit.. but in home brew campaigns it might be nice to make factions or organizations to fit.
if that is in here I haven't seen it. An example would be a "noble clan" that uses honor stat. and gives a certain "traditional lifestyle", based on rank.

Proficiency with a weapon type allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack role, not the damage. If you have Improved Pact Weapon selected as an Eldritch Invocation, and you are making it your Pact Weapon, it will get a +1, and making it your Hex Weapon will add your Charisma modifier to the damage as well.

You mean, instead. ;) Hex weapon means you add your Charisma mod to the weapon's attack and damage roll instead of the strength (or dex) mod, not additionally. (The +1 from the improved pact weapon comes on top of that, yes, but your phrasing was a bit misleading.)

I have a hexblade warlock and taken the life drinker eldritch invocation but my character sheet attack actions only seems to have the +5 from my CHA modifier in the damage on weapons flagged as pact weapons.

You are only allowed to add each ability modifier once, regardless of how many abilities say to add that ability modifier. Hexblade already adds charisma to damage so taking lifedrinker is redundant.

So, it turns out Life Drinker doesn't automatically show up on your weapon's action yet. For now, you can add a note in the customization options for your weapon like this.
In the meantime, I've passed along the feedback to the staff.

Just to clarify: no rule exists in the PHB to restrict how many times you can add your ability modifier as damage if you have more than one effect that adds it to damage. Many spells, magic items and invocations like Lifedrinker would be rendered utterly pointless of if it did. Especially since specific rules take precedence over general rules: even if a general rule did exist, the feature's specific rule still wins out (see "How to Play" section in the Introduction part of the PHB).

I think you were thinking about the Proficiency Bonus:
Your proficiency bonus can’t be added to a single die roll or other number more than once. For example, if two different rules say you can add your proficiency bonus to a Wisdom saving throw, you nevertheless add the bonus only once when you make the save.

To be fair lifedrinker would only be useless for a hexblade. There are other patrons.

No I was thinking about the ability modifier, which is why I said ability modifier, as this is what was being discussed. I am aware of the rule on stacking proficiency bonuses, thank you, but this isn't what I or anyone else was talking about.
Thanks for having a great site. Forgive me as I am new to 5E D&D and I don't know if this has been answered yet (and i apologize in advance if it has)....
When creating my characters, I select the option 'scores on top' However, When I export my character sheets, it puts the modifiers on top. When it is displayed on the online character sheet, it shows scores on top. Is this an issue?
Also, when making my ranger, after choosing my favored enemy 'Humanoids' it asks me to select 3 options. I did.. These options show up on the online character sheet however, they do not show up on the exported sheet. Is this an issue?
Probably because the exported PDF follows its own format, taking specific data from the sheet. This will have to be redesigned on the export side and has nothing to do with the online sheet itself.

Hi :)
I am not sure if this goes here or in support.

Edit: I think I’m wrong. I though i had found an official ruling before from Jeremy Crawford when I built a hexblade previously. Instead this might just be a bug https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/bugs-support/31511-hex-blade-life-drinker

Can we get a filter for removing acquisitions incorporated content from character creation, similar to Eberon, Ravnica, and other content?
Any way that "Haste" can be included in the 'status' portion to automatically change stats appropriately?
I love the new layout and insist on everyone using it to simplify play and ensure that all the correct stats are being used.
