I am trying to find some of the more invasive species of dnd for a project. Examples I have come up with are Slaad, Kruthik, Mindflayer, and Assassin Bugs. Anyone have other good suggestions for creatures in this category?

"Where words fail, swords prevail. Where blood is spilled, my cup is filled" -Cartaphilus
"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
Star Spawn and the like then? Not sure all the critters from the far realm.

Interesting idea, something in the area of pod people? Wait is there a pod people creature in any of the dnd books?

The role of different creatures in D&D can vary greatly by setting. You can have a campaign in the Far Realm where the adventurers are the invaders if you want. Which creatures "belong" and which don't are often focal points of a campaign.
It might be easier for you to find specific campaign settings or published modules and identify which creatures in those are invasive. As it is you're relying on general lore, which is purposely vague and won't give you many straight answers.
Had not thought about Gith at all. Gotta use somewhere as a breeding ground/nursery.

The owlbear is a disruption of nature at its finest.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

Owlbear s, bulleted any magically created crossbred creatures ( so many monstrosities) as well as all aberrations. For that matter an oriental dragon in a western setting is technically an “invasive” species (as would be things like Kirin, coutals etc).
I mostly have in mind things that become difficult to remove, and multiply rapidly.

Mimics! There's like... 10 or so Mimic variants across the various books, and you can slot them into almost any situation. I like the idea of a group of adventurers investigating something, and the DM repeatedly describing how everything in the room seems to be in pairs... every goblet has an identical goblet sitting next to it. Two tables sitting side-by-side in a kitchen. A bunch of little things that don't seem too weird at first, but it's a great twist when they finally realize what's happening.

Any aberrations from the Far Realm would qualify on a cosmic level.

Sure, those and Beholders, Mind Flayers, Gibbering Mouthers, etc.
Yes, if you don't mind that those pod people are oozes.

Githyanki, Duergars, Stirges and Swarm of rats or insect can be pretty invasive and colonize an area.

Kender.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
