Hi, so as in the title, just posting something here to make sure I haven't missed something that could make the character not work. Also, asking for some advice on a cantrip choice. Stats before increases (We're using a 29 point point buy that lets us go to up to 16):
STR:10
DEX:9
CON:15
INT:16
WIS:12
CHA:10
Race: Hill Dwarf, Using tasha's options to replace the weapon proficiencies with tools, and the ASI's with +2 INT +1 CON ASI's: +2 INT and Squat Nimbleness (+1 dex and athletics prof) Sticking with Guardian as my main armor form. Infusions: Replicate Magic Item (Bag of Holding, Alchemy Jug, Cloak of the Manta Ray, Winged Boots), Repulsion Shield, Helm of Awareness, Enhanced Weapon and E.Defence. I think thats the relevant info, if anything else is relevant I'll add it to the list when asked.
So the actual questions:
I can wield the repulsion shield and a gauntlet, right? There's nothing to stop that working?
Given the way the level 9 feature works, I can have my armour contain the Winged Boots, Helm, and both Enhanced Weapon and Defence, and then also have the Cloak and Shield active?
Less a question more advice: What attacking cantrip would people recommend for an artificer to cover situations where range might be needed/thunder gauntlets are getting resisted.
Yes, you can use the gauntlet on one hand and have the shield in the other. You just won't be able to dual wield. But your not building for that anyway so that's not a problem.
At 10th level you can have 6 infusions active. You can put those 4 into your armor thanks to the 9th level ability and also thanks to it's extra 2 that you can have active you can still activate the cloak and the shield. So your only problem will arise if you decide you want the Bag of Holding or the Alchemy Jug instead.
My advice if your wanting a ranged option and one that might work when your having trouble hitting with the thunder gauntlet would be Frostbite or acid splash. They are both saving throws instead of attack rolls. Their damage is moderate and their secondary abilities may or may not be useful. If you can land it frostbites might be marginally more useful because it causes the person that got hit to have disadvantage on a weapon attack. But acid splashes minor potential for hitting two targets may or may not come up for you. Both are still somewhat limited range however at 60'. Firebolt is your only real option for a longer range at 120' but it's also an attack roll spell so if your having trouble with high armor it may not fair much better.
Thank you for the confirmation that everything works! As for those cantrips, thorn whip would be perfect if only the range wasn't thirty feet... But is probably what I'm gonna take anyway. Magical piercing, works in melee and can pull an annoying enemy closer so I can hit em covers most of the gaps in my characters offensive arsenal.

Thorn Whip is another option. It’s a 30’ melee attack that does magical piercing damage. It has an optional battlefield control feature as well.
