This is two ideas rolled into one from an issue I'm having currently:
I prefer to have Spell Scrolls show up in the spell list (like many other magical items do that provide the ability to cast spells), but when they are created with a Magic Item Type of 'Scroll', there is no checkbox to mark them as active inventory, and the spell does not show up on the Spells tab. This is also true for potions (but that makes sense -- a potion would be quaffed and the spell would take effect on the drinker, as opposed to giving them the ability to cast a spell once drunk). I checked all the other item types: Staff, Wand, Ring, Rod, and Wonderous Item all display in inventory and allow the spell to be 'added' to the spells list.
With upcoming changes to containers, I would love it if similar types of items could be flagged and grouped: Spell Scrolls, Armor, Weapons, Mundane Items, etc. Then it could be possible to minimize a group at a time to make looking through inventory more intuitive and faster.

Here are duplicate examples to show what I mean: Scroll | Potion versus Item | Ring | Rod | Staff | Wand.
