A Hexblade who selects the Pact of the Blade boon at third level can create up to one Hex weapon and up to one Pact weapon - and could potentially combine both effects into just one single weapon (this is correctly modeled by the use of checkboxes). The bug is that a weapon designated as only Pact does not utilize a higher Charisma in place of the default Strength/ Dexterity even when the character is a Hexblade. Note that the description of Pact weapons makes no mention of this feature, it's only specified under the description of the Hex Warrior benefits.
Hex Warrior Weapon
Ability conferred from 1st level by having Hexblade patron
After a long rest, create by touching one existing weapon (must be proficient, cannot be two-handed)
Lasts until the next long rest
Use Charisma for attack modifier and damage instead of Strength/ Dexterity
Pact Weapon
Ability conferred at 3rd level by choosing the Pact of the Blade boon
Use an action to magically summon a melee weapon (no existing weapon needed, could be two-handed)
Bestows proficiency while you wield it
Lasts until death, recast, dismissed, or > 5' distant for 1+ minute(s)
_IF_ you are also a Hex Warrior, any Pact Weapon you summon may also substitute Charisma in place of Strength/ Dexterity
Eldritch Invocation: Improved Pact Weapon
The summoned weapon can be a spellcasting focus for warlock spells
The weapon has a +1 bonus to attack and damage (unless it already has such a magical bonus)
In addition to any melee weapon, it may now also take the form of a bow (short/ long) or crossbow (light/ heavy)
You can check multiple weapons as hex weapons. So just check your pact weapon as a hex weapon. Problem solved.
I don't think they will be able to make this automatic without putting in non-zero effort. Pretty much anything that requires the time of someone on a coding team never gets changed, even more so if there is already a work around.
