So I am not certain when it started, as I didn't have an issue in the very early morning hours (12:00 - 02:00 EST); but now whenever I attempt to type anything in a Text box in a character sheet, it is having issues.
The Text Boxes I mean are for Personality Traits; Ideals; Bonds; Flaws; Organizations; Allies; Enemies; Backstory; Notes; and Appearance.
I did not seem to have any issue on any character when it came to the physical characteristic text boxes (i.e. Height, Weight, Faith, Hair, Skin, etc.)
When I clicked into a box on a previously made character (both using 2024 and Legacy); the text already entered is black and the system takes 5 to 10 seconds to register any changes in the text box itself. I have already gone through the troubleshooting processes on my side; clearing my Cache and Browser Cookies; Logging out and Logging back in; Disconnecting and Reconnecting to my Wireless Signal; Turning off my Router and Turning it back on after 10 seconds; unplugging it and plugging it back in. I do not believe the issue is on my end, as I am experiencing the same problem whether I use my desktop or my laptop to access my characters.
Is anyone else having a similar issue at the moment?
Im having the same issues so are all my players, so its not a client side issue, wifi, device or browser based issue. This is exclusively a DND beyond issue.
I was trying to build a new character today and was having the same issues. I also did the standard troubleshoot. I had the issue with both Chrome and Firefox.

I am also having issues with all of the bigger text box fields. As soon as I press a key, it pauses for a few seconds then I get some of the characters I typed. On a text box with existing text, I go to the top and try to enter a character, there is a pause then the character appears at the top but my cursor goes to the bottom. Using Chrome.
Also having the issue. If you enter the "edit character" mode online, you can edit the boxes you're having trouble with but editing them from anywhere else has the problem.
I have this problem too, but only when I use dndbeyond character sheets in computer and browser (Chrome in my case). In the Android app, I can't see anything similar. I hope it will be fixed soon.
Throwing my hat in the ring to try to get this on someone's radar as it seems like a pretty severe/critical bug as it has completely broken a feature (ability to write free form text on a character).
Definitely not fixed in my laptop. The bug is still there in Chrome and when I tried completely cleared (cache etc) Firefox, there is still ~5 second delay between letters. The app version in Android seems to be ok, no bug there.
I have this issue as well. When trying to enter text into ANY text box ... Notes: Other, Notes:Background, Background:Appearance, etc ...the text doesn't appear.
If trying to insert into an existing note the cursor jumps to the end of box and one or two letters may appear.
Exiting and Entering the text box doesn't fix anything but the one or two characters might be retained at the end of the note
This is completely broken for every character I have tried to enter text into a text box field with "+ Add ...".
Windows + firefox, IOS + Safari, Windows + Chrome
The Beyond20 plugin was not installed in two of these cases. Clearing cache has no effect.
As of right now at 14:23 EST -- I am still having the same aforementioned issues with the Free Form Text Boxes. I have done everything necessary on my side to resolve the issue; but as of right now -- only the App version is allowing any input in the text boxes.
I cannot edit any of the Personality; Ideal; Bond; or Flaw boxes though on Mobile version.
I have tried not only on my own PC & Laptop -- but also on a different PC under a different IP & MAC Address with a different router that had never collected cookies from D&DBeyond prior to my use.
Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon and that a minor bug fix will be pushed through.
I did find that turning off Darkmode lets you see, as for some reason those boxes aren't turning the letters white. But there is no blinking typing indicator, and anything you do type takes over a minute to appear.
Is there a way to submit an official bug report? You would expect that they read the forum, expecially Bugs & Support section.
I tried to contact them via support request, which they responded pretty quickly with standard advice (Do this, try that, etc). Now the request is marked as solved with response "we have escalated it to the appropriate teams to be investigated further".

same here
Trying to enter text into Notes section (allies, enemies, etc) and also not working.
Tried in Firefox and Chrome with identical results

Still broken here too.
Try clearing the cache on whatever browser you are using.

+1 on this issue. The text box for notes is blacked out when I attempt to add new notes.
Also, after reviewing several other threads on the subject, I cleared the cache - no change.
Strange. I've updated my notes from my Wednesday session on a character. I also entered a backstory on a new character I have been working on. . . .

HOW did the text boxes break? It makes no sense.
