Is there a way to combine alchemist’s fire and water? Like, alchemist’s water? I would want to know the gp cost of that, and would alchemist artificers be able to do it?
If alchemical fire is like the Greek Fire of history then the answer is “no.” One of the great advantages of Greek Fire wad that it didn’t mix with water, so it could be used effectively in naval warfare. The Byzantines used it extensively in defending their empire. It’s thought that Greek Fire was similar to modern napalm.
Ultimately, it’s up to a DM if alchemical fire is the same thing as Greek Fire. If it’s not, perhaps they could be combined, though I’m not sure to what effect. The history of alchemy is full of alchemists trying to achieve seemingly impossible results, so perhaps the goal of creating “alchemical water” could be a long term personal research effort for your character? Like your version of the Philosopher’s Stone.
