Wondering if any of these things can play nice with each other.
Like, Artificer makes Replicate Magic Item: Walloping Ammo (sling) DC10 STR to knock prone.. He pulls 3 Walloping Ammo (stones) from his pouch and casts Magic Stone on them. If he (or anyone else throws them), what happens? Normal damage plus a chance to knock prone? Or Magic Stone damage + chance to knock prone?
Or, the Artificer just tosses the ammo on the ground and casts Catapult on them, what happens? Do they do 3d8 damage? Or 3d8 damage plus a chance to knock them prone?
And, finally, what if the Artificer does all three? Walloping Stones, turned into Magic Stones, tosses via the Catapult spell?
Since there's no RAW written about the specific difference between a pebble/stone and a sling bullet (as far as I know), I personally would allow it, because the artificer is "wasting" one of their features (infusion) on the interaction and the DC is only 10 anyway. No real threat of it being a game changing event (... even it is and Ive gotta deal with in the moment, as it always happens haha). But I'm bias as I'm first and foremost a Rule Of Cool DM.

Fighting the armor, clothes, sword, skin etc of a warrior - all animated independently. The skin (DMs discretion) qualified (had to upcast for weight - estimated at 9 pounds) - and I launched it in a line towards the other parts of the warrior (which each could get a DEX save vs DC 14). The first one that missed triggered BOTH to take 4d8 (upcast) bludgeoning damage! So that was fun!
What I wasn't able to do with the resources at hand was to light the first one on fire (say, alchemical fire?) and THEN launch him! However, I WAS able to catapult the flying sword into a known trap - so that was fun, too.
Quite possible a DM could argue that an animated sword isn't an object, but cool rules! So much fun!
I'm guessing that positioned properly, you might be able to catapult them THROUGH some hazardous terrain? Like spike growth? Or Create Bonfire?
I think that Magic Stone is the outlier here. It specifies that you touch three pebbles, and that these pebbles can be thrown or hurled with a sling. Sling Bullets are significantly larger than a pebble (weight 1.5 pounds), so would not qualify for MS. Thus, Walloping Ammunition (WA) could not be Magic Stone-d (you would have to get a ruling from your DM if you could even Magic Stone something already magical anyway).
is that how much each sling bullet weighs? I always took the 1.5 lb measurement to imply that a satchel of 20 sling bullets weighs 1.5 lbs total, not that each of the 20 bullets weighs 1.5 pounds each... otherwise buying a sack of sling bullets is 30 lbs of metal for 4 cp. It's not a perfect comparison, but iron is valued at 1sp per pound.
Just searching for sling bullets in dndbeyond doesn't make it clear (since they don't specify how many bullets it is).
But checking the basic rules for Adventuring Gear you can see the various types of ammunition and that sling bullets come in packs of 20 for price and weight purposes.

I got to do a fun variation (sort of) tonight.
