Hello, I would like to once again bring a question about the claw weapon from "Form of the Beast" in TCE Beast Barbarian.
I've seen previous opinions about whether the claws can wield weapons or use other objects, since the description mentions that you can use them as weapons if they're empty (which would imply that they might not be empty).
I don't know if there's a consensus on this, after all.
But my question is even more basic, as I'm not a native English speaker: the description says that your hands transform into "claws," which I understand to be just the horny "nail" of an animal or, for example, the pincers of an insect or crustacean, like a lobster. It doesn't say that they transform into "paws" with sharp claws. Is that correct? Do you believe that was the author's intention?
In this case, it seems to me that the character's manual dexterity would be severely restricted, hindering the use of weapons (ok, I've seen the Mezzoloth example as the possibility of weapon handling) or perhaps preventing other tasks, such as drinking a healing potion during a rage.
This very restricted description does not seem to me to be consistent with the image used to illustrate the TCE (a character with clawed hands) and with the popular image of a lycanthrope. Do you know whether is there any official clarification on this matter?
I'm not aware of any specific official guidance on this, but generally speaking in D&D, class features only do what they say they do. Since this one doesn't say that it restricts a character's ability to do things with their hands, it doesn't restrict their ability to do things with their hands.

As a logical check, have you seen ladies with really long fingernails? They learn how to do everything with those very long fingernails.
No problem!
