I just want to hear some feedback. This is the first character I've ever made so I'd like to know if there is any way I can make them better. Also, lore check me so I know if I did anything that's any wrong for a goliath to do.
You don't appear to have set a background - and because of that you only have 3 proficiencies (2 from Barbarian and 1 from Goliath). In your case you should have 5 - 2 more from your background. Did you miss or skip section "4. Description" in the character builder?
The next thing I noticed was that you're wearing Hide Armour - but because you are a Barbarian you get access to a feature called Unarmored Defence - which makes your AC 13 (10+Dex(1)+Con(2)) - which is identical to what your Hide Armour is giving you (12+Dex(1)). So basically wearing your armour isn't necessary - and depending on the Ability Score Improvements you take at later levels - may actually be a negative. Just something to take into consideration.
Beyond that - everything seems fine from what I can tell.
Wait, so you can just add more proficiency in a character background? So if I select Soldier, I will get more proficiencies I'm assuming?
Step 4 of building your character is choosing your background. Each background gives you proficiency in a couple of skills and maybe a tool, instrument, language or vehicle. This means that most starting characters have proficiency in between four and ten skills (ten being the maximum for a Variant Human Rogue who picks the Skilled feat as their starting feat). Since you are a Goliath you gain proficiency in Athletics. Being a Barbarian lets you choose two more skills from the list of skills on page 47 and your background would give you two more for a total of five.
As for your character in general, I suggest getting a two-handed weapon instead of two one-handed weapons. Mechanically Greataxes are the best but you can easily go with a Maul or Greatsword if you feel that fits the character better. I would also suggest boosting your Dex and Strength at level 4 and then go for Constitution and feats. The Tough feat is always good, Lucky, Alert, Mobile and Great Weapon Master are also very nice for a Barbarian. Of course, you won't be able to take them all so my choices, if you're going all the way to level 20, would be Tough and GWM.
Two handaxes and a spear is really under-equipped for a front-line melee character. Ditch the Hide armor, as has already been said that's not useful for a barbarian. Then get yourself a martial melee weapon, preferably either a two-handed one or a one-handed one with the Versatile property. You can technically go with two-weapon fighting with barbarians, but they really don't do it that well since most barbarian paths already have abilities that require your bonus action.
Also, if you're concerned with optimizing, a 12 intelligence does absolutely nothing for a barbarian. If you drop it down to a 10 you can boost your Dex up to a 14, which is far more useful.

For their first character - I wouldn't concern them with playing mechanically optimally. If they want to dual wield I'd say go for it.
