Wanted to gather any advice here on this EcK flavour :)
I am fascinated with the Echo Knight subclass of the Fighter. I've seen it's potential with; The Trickery Domain cleric: Invoke duplicity, spell list of Disguise self and Mirror image also for more potential copies (though do not function as echos)
Using the plain Fighter Magic Initiate feat for 2 cantrips + 1 first level spell, Silent Image for a copy
Multi class EcK with TDCleric with this feat, we would have Knight(1)+Echo(1)+Duplicate(1)+Silent Image(1)+Mirror Image(3) = 7 figures, pretty cool looking but maybe not super useful.
What caught my attention is the Eldritch Invocations: Mask of Many faces > cast disguise self at will without expending a spell slot Misty Visions > cast silent image at will without expending a spell slot
Using these one could at will create an image of the Knight or the Echo, and/or Disguise self to resemble the Echo and create an image of that. 3 Figures with only a bonus action, Creating an Image of the Echo I think would be distracting if the Echo is destroyed and another one pops up or having a shell game on the field, where one is an image and they other might be attacked through or have attacks of opportunity.
I like this flavour and the simplified process of at-will uses. If I'm multi classing into Hexblade though, there are lots of other Invocations that are useful, and would want to get the Eldrich Adept to add anything.
Please add any thoughts, feedback, considerations and build suggestions.
I know Sentinel PAM is popular with EcKs and Hexblades, I am comparing that with Sword and Board - Reach is nice and makes the 0 move speed more effective, but I'm not trying to break encounters for the DM, mostly build a flavourful character with competent functionality.
Level 1Fighter for hit dice then... 2-3 Fighter for early durability? In this case the flavour is expanding on the Kryn Dynasty art of using dunamis enters into a pact to learn and enhance these timeline/ shade abilities. Do we want 5 fighter for the eldirch adept + extra attack then Hexblade the remainder? or Fighter 1-3 get Martial Archatype, then Warlock 4-7 to get Hexblade, then back to fighter for 8-9 then Warlock 10+?
I would want to use ASI to get CHA up unless can max it will rolled stats + Origin (racial) bonus, then ASI for Eldrich Adept/ Sentinel/
Other feat suggestions/ considerations? Origin (race) suggestions/ considerations?
For weapons, going PAM/ Sentinel, Manifest Echo's AoO doesn't trigger off enemies outside of 5ft, however you could use BA to spawn the echo within 5ft of the enemy to create that situation. Torn between just going sword and board for the extra AC and getting into melee positions with the echo or for being caught in a fray or Polearm and locking down enemies with some extra range.
Origin(race) Suggestions? Does not have to be min/maxed > Form, Function and Flavour as the aim, thank you!!

if your going for a PAM build I would suggest Bugbear to have a 15' reach with a pole arm
