Good day and good afternoon! Have you ever wanted to drive your DM mad with abilities that shouldn't exist, but for some reason does? Well, allow me to introduce you to my build lineup. Once a day, somewhere, I'll post one of the builds I've used in the past. They're all based on SOMETHING or SOMEONE, so be aware! You may have already guessed what this build is catered too.
Well, be wary: This build does require stats being above 9, so make sure you're using Manual/Roll instead of Point Buy or standard array. Now, some backstory: Morgott is a boss in the open world souls game "Elden Ring", who is known for his versatility and kickass opening lines. And today, I'm gonna teach you how to play as him! But before we continue, do remember that the build is customizable, and any of the weapons I mentioned can be swapped out and still be used perfectly fine.
Now, for the basics! Start at Level 1, as usual (or skip ahead for a full build), after rolling stats higher than 9. The primary stats are Str, Dex, Cha, and Wis. Con is not as important, but it's good to have, alongside Int. Make sure you priotize those four first. (Though I recommend having good in everything, or at least decent, since this build does quite literally use everything. I recommend at least 12 in everything, or higher. You can probably do this with point buy, but I've never used Point Buy so-).
Start off as a Fighter and an Outlander. Remember, Morgott was forsaken as a child, left to his own with his strange brother, Mohg. He lived in isolation until the fall of the Elden Ring. Make sure you get the following starting equipment: A longsword, a warhammer, and a set of chain mail. The staff will be provided via Outlander. (You could technically use Hermit traits for this build. But that's up to the player and the DM).
Why the chain mail? For survivability, and it's sellable. Anyways, primarily use any of the weapons for now, it doesn't really matter at this point. When you get your first level up, multiclass into Monk. Now you can sell the chain mail! (Morgott only has a cloak for armor, so keep that in mind, but it's up to the player, as I said. This build is customizable). Make sure to buy at least one dagger for the future, but don't use it yet.
At the third level up, multiclass into Warlock with Hexblade. You won't need to level this class up until you get the other two up to level three. Continue onwards, do whatever it is your DM wants you to do, but keep leveling up Monk and Fighter until they're both level 3. For Monk, choose Way of the Astral Self, and for Fighter, choose Eldritch Knight.
Astral Self is just for preference, seeing how Morgott wants to be bathed in gold and attune himself to the higher beings (by becoming Elden Lord), I felt it was both for the coolness of it, and because you get extra arms for your weapons. Eldritch Knight is so you can bond with both your warhammer and your longsword. In his fights, Morgott will summon golden weapons and attack with them. For the cost of no action (or as a bonus), you can do the same thing!
Then, for the final parts of the build, upgrade Hexblade up to level 4, and use your dagger as your hex weapon. This is because Morgott will sometimes summon a golden dagger and throw it at you, during his fight. And, well, that's about it! You can customize from here, but this is the basic fundamentals of it all!
When reaching Level 4, I would recommend getting an ability increase. Just because you might need it since we are playing as an all-arounder. But, that doesn't mean you should skip out on feats later. I'll leave the feats up to you, for customization, of course!
As for recommended spells, it's also up to you. You don't HAVE to play as Morgott, you can switch out the weapons and whatnot, but there is only one spell I think you should get: Jump. Because Morgott jumps into the air and slams down with his hammer from time to time.
Other than that, thank you for reading! I'm leaving this as basic as possible for new and veteran players, and so you can switch and choose what you all think is best. I'll be posting more builds over time! (These builds I made myself, or came up with them. Yeah. There's a reason my old group outcasted and doesn't like me any more lmao).
Please rate it, and let me know what you think! If anyone has any ideas, feel free to message me directly. I always read messages... Eventually.
