You’re going to want STR and CON, much like other fighters. Though you actually have class abilities keyed to you str and con bonuses, so you want them even more. Cha for you dump stat. Dex is nice for saves and initiative, but you’ll be in heavy armor, so it’s not quite as useful. Int and wis will depend on you, though wis is good since it usually works well with fighter skills
I’m going to assume you put your 15 in str and 14 in con. Variant pump the 15 to a 16 and the 13 (wherever it is) to a 14. Id say take one ASI, pump the 16 str to an 18
For the other two feats, another ASI to get str to 20 or the con to 16 is not a bad choice. Sentinel can be really good for a cavalier, since it helps boost their battlefield control even more .
Personally not a big fan of mounted combatant, mostly because mounts die so easily, and size large creatures are really hard to take into dungeons. Mounted combatant certainly helps, especially for a cavalier, but not that much, and if you don’t have a mount, you’ve wasted a feat.
I’m also not a big fan of green flame blade, especially after level 5. Since using it means you take the cast a spell action, you give up your second attack. Usually you’re better off hitting the same enemy twice rather than hitting one and then scratching someone behind him.
I like, for fighters, to take initiate in cleric, you can pick up guidance (cause it’s awesome) and healing word as a way to help a dying ally. Also wis is a good stat for fighters since it works well with their skills, and helps them not get dominated.
Booming blade can be good. If your end up taking sentinel, they can compliment each other nicely. Since sentinel is only on opportunity attacks, where you can use booming blade on your regular turn. Again as with green flame blade, you give up your second (or third) attacks in exchange for something that might not end up damaging the enemy, but sometimes (like if you're stopping them getting to one of the party squishies) stopping them can be more important that hurting them. It can really be great for even more battlefield control.
If you do go with one of the magic initiate feats, pay close attention to the components. With a sword and shield, you won't have a free hand for somatic components.

I’m building a level 7 cavalier for adventures league ascent into avernus. I’m variant human and have long sword and shield.
Im doing standard array, and need to know where to spend my points on stats?
Additionally, I need advice on which feats to take.
I wanted to take mounted combatant and magic Initiate for the green flame blade(don’t know which to pick- wizard, warlock, sorcerer?)

Thank you for the input, I appreciate it. What about booming blade?
