Ok. I thought someone said that RAW Fist of Unbroken Air was pretty clear, which I agree with, but that may not be RAI. There is no RAI for this ability.
If it was clear, and an exact reading of the ability (and not its possible implications) is all you want, then why ask for our opinions on it? Theres no point if you are already satisfied in saying "Its RAW so thats how it should be played"
[Also, NO ability in 5e has a RAI interpretation unless they release a Sage Advice for it. As we agreed earlier in this thread, 4EM could use a few more Sage Advice entries anyway]

Correct. I thank you for your part in this discussion. I was seeing how others read RAW and/or applied this ability.

Alright. In that case, I agree RAW that the ability works exactly the way you want it to. I still do not think this is the way the ability was intended to be used, but I recognize that that is not the intent of the thread and will not push it further. For the purposes of this thread I will change my vote for the time being to favor "after"
My Favourite combo is round 1 stick the Stunning Strike. Round 2, cast Wall of Fire (ringed wall, heat towards the centre, auto fail the save from SS) around the target. Then Unbroken Air every time it leaves to punch it right back in.
