So from what I understand, RAW, the extra arms from the Astral Monk feature only lets you take attacks with your astral arms, otherwise they're kinda just flavor and a cool character design, they don't provide other benefits.
But to me, it seems heinous that you don't at least get some kind of bonus, or advantage, on a Grapple action while you have your astral arms summoned. Yes it allows you to use your Wisdom instead of Strength to make the check. I can see how that could be an argument saying that this is a bonus itself, but I personally feel like it's not really a big enough benefit, more like it's just making up for the fact you usually are a terrible grappler, even though Monks should be good at hand to hand combat, pinning, etc.
Monks to me should be able to Grapple, and having 100 extra arms summoned should mean you can grapple really well.
Would it be broken to ask my DM for a homebrew addition of having advantage on Grapple checks, or at least some kind of small bonus damage from attacking a grappled enemy with your astral arms?

Actually, you only need the arms to be active to be able to use your Wisdom instead of Strength for Athletics checks, which you use to grapple. It's not advantage, but if you prioritize Wisdom, which also can be used to attack with instead of Dexterity, and take proficiency in Athletics you are on a good path. One suggestion, if it isn't too late, is to take Variant Human or Custom Lineage and with your 1st level feat take Skill Expert as your feat so you can get Expertise in Athletics. So you grapple with your actual physical arms, but use Wisdom for Athletics and add twice your proficiency bonus as well.
Edit: once you have them grappled with your real arms you beat the crap out of them with your astral arms. And since you only need one hand to grapple you can still wield a one handed monk weapon to do good damage with your action and bonus action astral arm attacks.
